I'm sure they will, I still think the worst of the attacks are yet to come.

When you're behind in the polls, youuse whatever tools you need to try get your ratings back up.

The Libs will almost certainly go on the attack immediately, if not sooner.

All part of the game, unfortunately.

The time for Liberal attacks has gone. All the can do is use TV ads which have been sadly ineffective for them so far.

The debate was far from the knock out blow for any party. Not good for the Liberals the way the campaign has been going.

Harper had to look Prime Ministerial. He did. Now it will be very tough for the Liberals to pull this one out of the fire.

Anytime somebody compares the race to 2004, as a prelude to saying how the Liberals will win this race, remind them of this. In 2004 the CPC lead for about three minutes before scary-scary-scary kicked in and nervous nellies ran back to the Liberals. This go round the CPC has held front runner status for almost two weeks and have continuted to go up.

Buh bye poor Mr. Dithers... Buh bye.

Why unfortunately when there is so much to attack and so much that needs to be attacked?

i don't like these attacks either way but paul martin has patiently endured them for a while now. Blitzes are all about timing. Paul martin isn't going to blitz on every play. he will smartly pick and choose his moments. I expect and demand severe SAFETY blitz right after the election. Opinion polls are going to keep changing and a seasoned veteran like Martin knows the right time to stop harper's drive on fourth and short. He just needs to awaken the liberal base, and show the distinction of 2 very varied visions of Canada's future. that's all.

a am not the slightest bit concerned about the liberal ability to ground Harper.

Wow.

I just watched some of the new Liberal ads.

And they were complaining about the Conservatives going negative ...

Just ... Wow.

EDIT: I've been through the new Liberal ads and NOT ONE says anything about what they plan (not) to do with the country. ALL 11 are attack ads.

I think so!

Compared to the new Liberal ads the Conservatives have been all positive thus far.

And after watching them all, the next time I hear a liberal complain about attack ads I'm gonna barf.

Check out the new Liberal ads. You'll be amazed. If ever going negative could scare Canadians, those ads may just do it.

My guess is these ads will reverse enough votes to stop a Conservative majority.

Call it a win if you will, but the Liberals will definitely gain ground as a result. (Or at least stop the hemorrhaging.)

I concur. Those are worse than the ads the Swiftboat Vets ran against Kerry.

You know, I haven't watched the ads online yet...but I will.

I don't watch much TV. Like, I watch my girlfriend's soap opera in the afternoon (just so I can tell her what I think will happen and the moral and ethical implications of it  ) and I watch TSN and RDS hockey games.

I have, up to now, only seen Conservative TV commercials. NEVER Bloc ads or NDP ads and maybe I saw one Liberal ad. Maybe that is why the Conservatives are doing well here but the ads are impressive ones.

Tonight though I will watch the Liberals ads online...

Do that. They're shocking to say the least.

One of them has already been pulled. These guys cannot win for losing.

All twelve Liberal english attack ads.

They pulled the one about military presence. Wonder why?!

They are the most malicious and vile ads I've seen yet. CTV has them up on their website, all of them, including the one about Harper bringing guns into the cities, ( which supposedly has been pulled by the liberals) Are the liberals paying CTV to run these or what? There's no journalistic commentary and no equal time for other parties. I've written CTV to complain, maybe you all could do so as well.

Hopefully, these negative attack ads are too little, too late. They try to paint Harper as 'scary' when

the post -debate consensus is that Martin is the scary one. The Calgary Sun editorial got it closest when they described Martin as an out of shape Mike Tyson lumbering into the ring looking like he was prepared to bite an ear off if that's what it took. Flapping his arms and trying to lecture three opposition leaders at once, Paul looked at one point like he was going to generate enough lift to take off. In a word; frantic.

Another example of Liberal "Values".

I have just watched those ads.

They are hateful, disgusting, and if you buy into the Liberal-propagated myths, anti-Canadian.

I wouldn't be surprised if they turn a lot of people off and give the Conservatives a commanding lead and bring the NDP around 30 seats. They will turn a lot of people off. Martin has really shamed himself...
