CdnFox Posted October 14, 2023 Report Posted October 14, 2023 https://researchco.ca/2023/10/13/cdnpoli-oct2023/ Half of Canadians disagree with the two centre-left parties joining forces before the next election to the House of Commons. Vancouver, BC [October 13, 2023] – A merged political organization encompassing the Liberal Party and the New Democratic Party (NDP) would still trail the Conservative Party in a Canadian federal campaign, a new Research Co. poll has found. The online survey of a representative national sample asked Canadians to ponder their options in a federal election if the Liberals and the New Democrats merged into a single party. If the new party contested the election under current Prime Minister and Liberal leader Justin Trudeau, the Conservatives would be in first place among decided voters with 42%, followed by the new party (36%), the Bloc Québécois (8%), the Green Party (also 8%) and the People’s Party (2%). in the long run - i suspect it would actually help the conservatives a great deal. You often hear people on the left say the left should be in control of canada because the ndp and the libs get the most votes - but the fact is if the parties merged that would likely not be true. ExFlyer Posted October 14, 2023 Report Posted October 14, 2023 If that happened, we would be just like the Americans. Liberal/Democrat or Conservative/Republican and a few extraneous outlying parties to choose from. Quote Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But you are not entitled to your own facts.

The libs are too arrogant and think the ndp should be 'giving it up for free' and the ndp voters really aren't the same as liberals. August1991 Posted October 15, 2023 Report Posted October 15, 2023 In federal politics, Canada is too often regional. At present, the NDP is an anglophone, green, western, urban-what-ever party. Quote
RedDog Posted October 17, 2023 Report Posted October 17, 2023 Don’t we effectively have a Liberal-NDP merger now? Canada is being run by a Sikh. Quote

Well we do in practice, but canada is being run by a lunatic who owns a pet sikh. The sikh isn't running anything. 1 Quote There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data
