According to a poll Ive been running on this website, over 30 people have voted. 50% of the vote has gone to Conservative Majority (yay!!!) Lagging far behind is Conservative Minority, Liberal Minority, and.... wait a second... Liberal Majority!!!???

Who the hell wants a Liberal Majority!!?? 5 people voted for that option on my poll. Are those 5 people complete morons??? Serioulsy... With all the corruption, and theft, and greed of the Liberals, why would you want them to have complete control? It will become an elected dictatorship!!!

Will someone explain why they would want that!!??

While we're engaged in full scale hyperbole, I'd like to ask why on earth anyone would want a Conservative lead theocracy in our once free land?!?!

I think you pretty well answered your own question.

Actually, I wouldn't want either a Conservative or a Liberal majority.

I'm not surprised about the poll's results, because it seems that most of the posters here are Conservative supporters anyway, so I wouldn't put too much credence in the poll's results other than confirming that indeed this forum has a majority of right leaning posters.

Well, I'd vote PC just for the fact that IMO, both Black Dog and I Miss Trudeau represent the lefty liberal opinion. They've both convinced me that the left is opposed to structure and traditionalism, both which I hold fairly close to my moral compass.

Neither one of you bother to reply as I've got you both on ignore.

The trouble with the legal profession is that 98% of its members give the rest a bad name.

Don't be humble - you're not that great.

So, there's like three non-conservatives on this post and you have them all on ignore? Debates at your house must be very agreeable.

A Colonel Blimp in our midst? Someone who has two of our most perceptive participants on ignore is not here to learn anything or to debate.

Its pretty telling, though, that anyone who doesn't accept his notion of structure or traditionalism opposes both. It couldn't be that they simply have a different idea of structure, nooo... they're clearly with the terrorists.

Name one pre-Pearson Canadian tradition that the Liberals have shown any respect for.

Not me.

Don't want ANY majority government.

That's too close to "absolute power", and we all know the old saw about what that does.

Absent the counter-balancing effects of a seperately elected head of state, and a seperately elected Senate, our only options in Canada are a majority or minority government. Saying you prefer a minority is saying you prefer gridlock and stagnation.

Much as I dislike the Liberals, and have no intention of voting for them, their complete lack of ideals beyond "get elected" holds a certain perverse charm for me. At least we know from experience that no course of action is too far to the right for them, if the popular will seems to be for it. Take for example the hack-and-slash policies of Finance Minister Martin when Conservative governments in Alberta and Ontario created similar policies to popular appeal.

My feeling is that if the Conservatives form the next government, it will be as a minority. As such, they will be stymied at every turn by the combined reactionary malevolence of the the Liberals and NDP until a confidence motion fails, and the following government almost assuredly will be a Liberal majority. The silver lining for Conservatives being that their short lived and impotent minority will have broken the ice with the electorate, opening the door for future majorities (circa 2013).

I don't support the Liberals and I am working to see that they do not take my riding.

I do, though, hope they trounce this faux conservatism that, I believe, brings the gravest threat to the future of Canada it has ever witnessed.
