270,000 Torontonians go to Food Banks each month

Food Banks are calling for mayoral candidates and the provincial government to treat this as an emergency, and have singled out the cost of housing as a culprit.  It seems like the government will have to choose between landlords or a mushrooming poor population pretty soon.

My wife and I had to use a food bank once. But I soon got my feet under me and we began heading in the right direction. All it took was some effort and determination.

I know the need...I don't like to see people being perpetual users of these food banks. It signifies a failure in most cases, that is not getting rectified.

The elementary schools feed the children, this I know.
