Biblio Bibuli Posted January 16, 2006 Report Posted January 16, 2006 But lets stop hijacking these people's post. I bet you that the originator who put out the original post on St Nicholas Day, and the people responsible for keeping this topic alive all throughout last year would now LOVE for someone to hijack it. You see, with the ridiculously low predictions of how many seats CPCers would garnish ....... like for example ... Slavik's 102 ... Colby's 105 ... tml12's 106 ... Van. King's 110 ... August1991's 113 .... I doubt they are holding their heads high today. I wouldn't like to be in their situation. ESPECIALLY if someone kept bring it up, over and over and over again. THAT'S why I tried to change the topic! But have it your way! They probably had it coming anyway. The Geoff Prediction v3CPC 162 I'm not going to raise your 162 right now because, looking around, my 160 is still in the money. Biblio Bibuli Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 Just for interest . How about within plus or minus three?-CES It is obvious to me that you have decided that you cannot win and thus you're now just hoping not to lose by giving me this new proposition. Nice try, Stanislav, but I'm not THAT stupid. However ..... since our first bet WAS "just for interest" (no money or beer involved) I'm more than willing to cancel it and make a new one, one where we put our money or beers where our mouths are. So how about it? You choose a new number and I choose mine and whoever gets closer wins a case of beer (24 and up!). Go ahead, Stan! Biblio Bibuli Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 Nice try, Stanislav, but I'm not THAT stupid. I lied. Canuck E Stan Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 Biblio Bibuli, I thought I was helping you out. I withdraw my offer,it's the battle of the numbers. My rev. 4 numbers to yours. Good Luck! We may both be wrong if Doug Fisher is right .He's been around Ottawa since Diefenbaker. Considered the GodFather of the parliamentary press gallery. Here's his prediction: Still, let me be an early bird again this week by suggesting it is not impossible that the determination among Canadians to have a change in government may well produce something truly phenomenal. Not just a finish which has the Conservatives holding 185-200 seats, but one that consigns the Liberals to fourth place in the House of Commons ranking --behind both the Bloc Quebecois and the New Democrats! Doug Fisher Quote "Any man under 30 who is not a liberal has no heart, and any man over 30 who is not a conservative has no brains." — Winston Churchill
shoop Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 Stan, On the face of it that is a dream scenario. However, a win that big would have the potential for downside. A much smaller Conservative majority would be that much better. A massive win could lead to the massive hubris of the PC government after 1984. Still possible under the scenario Fisher laid out. 170 seats for the CPC would be very nice, very nice indeed. Quote
Biblio Bibuli Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 We may both be wrong if Doug Fisher is right .Doug Fisher The question is... how can Doug be wrong. He's not ruling out an "amazing about-turn" where Martin could come out as a majority PM, right down to the Liberals being in the dumps with the Conservatives holding 190 seats. How the hell does he get away with that? Quote When a true Genius appears in the World, you may know him by this Sign, that the Dunces are all in confederacy against him. - Jonathan Swift GO IGGY GO!
Biblio Bibuli Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Post your predictions here. Here are my projections:CPC 113 I think I'm being too generous to the Tories ... Seeing as how August1991 went so shamefully off course with his projection, , I think it would be cruel and unusual punnishment to expect him to now come back to this topic of his and fulfill his duty of tallying up all the predictions. But SOMEBODY has to do it! Any volunteers? I made that prediction in December and I was going to make an update until I saw that SES poll that just came out.... Let me pick some random numbers: Tories 135 Libs 84 BQ 53 NDP 35 Ind 1 This is a ridiculously hard election to call because of the three way races. I suspect there will be many frustrated candidates tomorrow evening, and many winners with around 40% of the vote in their ridings. Quote
