We may both be wrong if Doug Fisher is right.

Doug Fisher

Canuk E Stan,

I like Doug Fisher. The piece where he's pointing out a big raise in the collective Liberal IQ ever since Ignatieff joined them, and his proposal to the CPC to bring on David Frum to even it up is great. As are many others. I like his pro-Tory prediction too, but I thought to myself "why bother when I'm the tops here at MLW with my measily prediction of 160 seats?" (ever since Geoff chickened out, as I knew he would).

I'm not as bold as Douglas is, but I've decided to raise my CPC seat count. If no for other reason than not wanting my prediction to look like child's play compared to Doug's prediction, and of course to give you, Stanislav, a faint hope of winning.

So, here it is, my last & final revision: (unless someone here dares to up my 166, of course.)

Tories ..... 166 (including AT LEAST seven to twenty from Quebec)

Libs ........ 50 ( that's what they will be drinking tonight)

BQ ........ 55

NDP ......... 36

Ind ............ 1 (just because August1991 says so)

Good Luck!

If I am right, what do I win?

That's what I've been asking myself. Why they are keeping it a secret is beyond me.

Biblio Bibuli,

Since you have changed your prediction at such a late date,I'll do you one better.

I'll make my prediction tomorrow.

But,I'll do it very early tomorrow.

Just voted.....prediction:

Conservatives 159

Bloc 49

Lib 65

NDP 35

159 for Conservatives is a damned good prediction.

How many Quebec seats will they get, you figure?

I went with Brian Mulroney's prediction on that one. Both I and Don Martin know that "Brian Mulroney who, despite his many faults can take the pulse of Quebec accurately, is telling the campaign he expects a minimum of seven Quebec seats to go Tory tonight and could see 20 going their way if the federalist vote dominos away from the Liberals."

Mark me down for 3 Tory seats in Quebec.

Consider it done!

However, I wish you would reconsider. Mr. Mulroney is a brilliant man, and since he no longer has any reasons to bullshit us, I take his word for it.

When he says a minimum of 7, 7 and up it is!

Well, I didn't think I would bother making a prediction, but here it is, at the last minute:

Conservatives...130

Liberals.............88

NDP..................31

Bloc..................58

Green.................0

Independent........1

Sounds pessimistic for a Conservative supporter, doesn't it? Well, I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than sorely disappointed. The kicker is, as always, Ontario. If polls had given either Liberals or Conservatives a clear lead in Ontario, this would have been so much easier to predict.

Now, through the miracle of historical revision I can now state that I was 100% correct on the outcome of this election.

Only I correctly predicted:

Overall Election Results

Party Elected Leading TotalVote Share

CON 124 0 124 36.25%

LIB 103 0 103 30.22%

BQ 51 0 51 10.48%

NDP 29 0 29 17.49%

IND 1 0 1 0.52%

OTH0 0 0 0 5.05%

Remember you saw it hear first and if you don't remember then think about this:

I'm not making this up. I'm not allowed to make things up. Choose your history.

You were a little too late with your prediction Murray B.

Thus BigGunner's prediction of 125 seats for the CPC wins, no ifs ands or buts about that.

Congratulations BG!!

I feel like such an idiot with my once upon a time 163? Well I was hoping for the good for Canada anyways.

I think that my prediction comes closer than any. I predicted the cats would win a landslide, and they did. The black cats got 103 seats and the white cates got 124 seats, between them they got 227, if that's not a landslide what is? I predict a similar result next time though depending on how it goes between now and then they may switch roles so that the other party is the black cats.

Okay, then let's call it a tie because, except for a few typographical errors on my part, we got EXACTLY THE SAME RESULT.

What is a tiny difference of a couple orders of magnitude among friends?
