blackbird Posted January 25, 2023 Report Posted January 25, 2023 Letters: Justin Trudeau's punch lines are hurting allies — and us (msn.com) While B.C. is building a pipeline across the northern part of the province to ship LNG to the seaport at Kitimat, BC and building an LNG terminal there, Trudeau is destroying our customer relationship with Japan and Germany by his words to their leaders about LNG when they asked for help. blackbird Posted January 25, 2023 Author Report Posted January 25, 2023 (edited) "Justin Trudeau does a boxing workout in September 2015. A letter writer says the prime minister delivered verbal punches to the leaders of Japan and Germany when he rejected their pleas for Canadian LNG and instead lectured them about ending reliance on fossil fuels.© Provided by National Post" Makes one wonder about the legality and constitutionality of his actions since it is perfectly legal for provinces to develop LNG and export it to other countries. At least the propriety of his actions should be questioned by provinces and opposition parties. Isn't he interfering with provincial jurisdiction over natural resources and trade? Thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in business and tax revenue are at stake in the LNG industry. Edited January 25, 2023 by blackbird Quote

Moonbox Posted January 25, 2023 Report Posted January 25, 2023 Where did I say that? 1 Quote "A man is no more entitled to an opinion for which he cannot account than he is for a pint of beer for which he cannot pay" - Anonymous
herbie Posted January 25, 2023 Report Posted January 25, 2023 The thousands of jobs will be over late next year when the pipeline's finished. Then it will be 'dozens' of jobs. Add on zero BC gas would go to Germany anyway' Look at a map. Asia's the closest market, we have to compete with Qatar & with Australia just like for coal. The Japanese have decades of expoerience playing our 2 markets against each other. I still maintain we were too late getting into the game and we'll be lucky to even recover the cost of the gas line.
