The point of this topic was about excessively generous welfare benefits for many Americans while businesses can't find enough employees willing to work.

COVID shutdowns are OVER, so no "keep sending checks to these people."

In America, we have TEMPORARY unemployment insurance funded by businesses which lay people off, NOT the Federal government. Some may still be on the tail end of their coverage.
