Black Privilege in Canada is a Problem

Recommended Posts

that being said, having grown up immersed in it

I would say that Canadian black culture is distinct from American black culture

Canada;s black slaves were not from Dixie

Canada's black slaves were British indentured slaves, from the West Indies

so Toronto black culture is Caribbean

it's a British culture, separate from the American republic

the black Canadians I grew up with were all Jamaicans

incidentally, the opening phases of the Second World War

was the British Empire's defence of Ethiopia from Mussolini

Americans do love Caribanna tho

one time I was walking around in the crowd at Caribanna

and suddenly I come upon Shaquille O"Neal himself

just walking around in the crowd, no entourage

I stopped and spoke with him for awhile

he was totally unpretentious, very approachable, friendly & polite

that was a Toronto the Good moment, that's Toronto at its best

just hanging out with Shaq at Caribanna, aint no thang
