No. It's a great example how you take things out of context. I'm talking about countries using their own soldiers against their own population, when they grab power. Look at history. This is an excerpt from a long story. Boy, it looked like a scene from a horror movie. Quote 'Absolutely terrified': Northern B.C. family fights off 2 marauding grizzly bears His teenaged daughter was in another cabin beside the house, and her dog was cowering outside the cabin door. Cowan then yelled out his window for her to let the dog in. When she opened her door, the bears "bolted" at her, too. Cowan had no rifles at home — his were at his father's place nearby. The only weapon he could find was a kitchen knife. He phoned his father to come over as quickly as possible, and to bring a gun. "We were surrounded by two grizzlies and they were potentially going to get into the house," he told his father. His father drove up within minutes, blasting his horn. The bears didn't seem to care, Cowan said. "They started coming at him. And they were not stopping. So he ended up firing a shot right at the one bear and shot it right in the chest, killing it pretty much instantly." Cowan then decided to take some precautions. He went to his father's house to retrieve his own rifles, to have them on hand at home. He was back within about 20 minutes, he said, and started to inspect his rifles, "just in case". "My kids all of a sudden started screaming at me that this other bear had come back," he recalled. "And it walked right up beside the house again." Cowan took a rifle and went out the door. "As soon as it saw me, it started taking an interest again and coming towards [me], so I fired a shot and hit it square right in the chest." The bear retreated a bit, then fell down dead. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/grizzly-bears-shot-atlin-bc-1.4150248 Edited October 7, 2017 by betsy Quote

Somebody did die by getting shot as she was being mauled by a bear! Quote Claudia Huber killed by bullet husband fired to stop grizzly attack, coroner finds The animal approached a window and put its paws on the glass, forcing it to give way. The bear then fell into the house and chased Huber and the dog out. Huber took refuge in an SUV parked outside and Liniger was inside a second vehicle parked nearby. The bear repeatedly jumped on the hood of the vehicle. Liniger honked the horn of his vehicle, which caused the bear to run away. Investigators believe Huber at this point saw an opportunity to make a break for the vehicle Liniger was in, but she never made it. The bear attacked her, dragging her into the nearby woods and Liniger ran to the house to get his gun. He fired several shots at the bear before running back inside for more ammunition. He fired more shots at the bear, eventually killing it. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/yukon-woman-mauled-bear-died-gunshot-wound-1.3378411 So, because she died from a bullet....what's your advice? Never use a gun? Without a gun - what would you do if you're in similar situation - and a bear is mauling your child? Call 911? Yell, "shoooo! Go away?" ....maybe, add "....please?" Punch the bear and sacrifice yourself for your child? That is, if it'll even stop and go for you..... How long does it take to die while you're being mauled? Depends on your injuries, I suppose. Can you bear to watch helplessly for minutes as your child is getting ripped? I bet you'd wish you had a gun. Edited October 7, 2017 by betsy Quote

Look at history. How many repressive regimes were established by coup? Many, including all the repressive regimes installed by the USA in many countries around the world. This is the same USA that puts out propaganda, which you have obviously swallowed, that says it is a force for good, a kind, benevolent generous country when it is nothing of the sort. That is stunning hypocrisy. And for you think and advance the ludicrous notion that citizen firearms would be able to stop the US government from frying any who resisted is ludicrous in the extreme. Typical uninformed right wing fear mongering, Betsy. You should have thrown in some Muslims radicals/commies who were in a conspiracy with the grizzly bears. Quote
H10 Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 I strongly support the 2nd amendment and believe that the attempt to ban bump stocks is an infringement upon the 2nd amendment that is illegal and unethical. It has been shown time and time again that a half decent armed untrained milita is still able to hand consistent losses to large convention armies, ie Russia and USA in afghanistan, usa in vietnam and southern africa, rebels in libya, isis in syria and iraq, Hell, ISIS would have overrun the entire region but for USA, russia and turkey all ganging up on it with assad. We seen in Somalia as well, well armed militas crush western armies including our own. The technology is so good that the assymetrical warfare components has made alot of the fighter and bomber planes not so relevant. The Yemenis have proved that as well. Further most countries do not have soldiers willing to drop bombs on their own people in large enough numbers. Quote
