cybercoma Posted June 15, 2016 Report Posted June 15, 2016 No. The Charter is clear an unambiguous. It is common in Western social democracies. You may find that surprising or disturbing, but it is not at all unusual. Sorry, but Wiki definitions and low court decisions are secondary to the Charter. Actualky it's not very clear. What God? Which religion? It doesn't say. Quote
Smoke Posted June 16, 2016 Report Posted June 16, 2016 Actualky it's not very clear. What God? Which religion? It doesn't say. Ah, so then it could be interpreted to mean any religion. If the reference to "God" encompasses all religions, then why should it be removed from the anthem? Who is being "excluded"? Quote

That way I get to keep my own bit glorious and free, and God can keep yours in that state. Edit> No, that wouldn't work. You'd need names and addresses, questions on the census, which bits of land in particular, like, not the bit behind the shed, because nobody goes there, but that bit out front would be nice, etc. Bureaucratic nightmare. Do you think there is a charge for gods to keep my land glorious? I mean, if it is free, I would still have him look after the bit behind the shed. Then I wonder who defines glorious? Right now my yard is pretty damn glorious, but really only because of sort of an arms race with my neighbours. Those jerks, who are really nice in most respects, keep their yards impeccably maintained, which, via pride forces me to follow suit. Some people worry about people moving in and letting a property go, but I secretly long for it. Anyway, if it is reasonably glorious and also free, I'm all in. I could use some free time on weekends. Be careful what you wish for. This is absolutely true, every word. I had a neighbour once, luckily for just a year or so, who had two large dogs. He would let their waste pile up in his yard until there wasn't a spot you could put a foot down cleanly, and then he would pick it up with a shop vac. Quote

I would think that emptying the ShopVac would be worse than just shoveling the crap into a bag. I scooped my dog's waste frequently, mostly because the grass area of my backyard is relatively small and I have young kids that play in it. I suppose the manual labour is the price of being an atheist. No free glorious land for this boy. Quote
