Our involvement over there does not make sense.

I think that bringing a semblance of peace to the region is in the best interest of the world, and thereby Canada. I think there is a need for peace-keeping in the region.

Wearing kurdish flags while opposing a kurdish state is pretty dumb though.

In order to 'keep the peace' in that region...one needs a large occupying army. Stronger than the bozos you wish to keep apart. Imagine WW1....what would it take to get a section of trench-line to stop fighting (besides Paul McCartney's videos re: Xmas 1914)? Certainly not a few fellows in No Man's Land wearing blue helmets.

Bring on the Canadian peacekeepers...send them in now. No need to get involved in that messy business of peacemaking, just skip ahead to the part where Canada rolls in and keeps the peace on a UN mission. Think of the selfie opportunities!
