eyeball Posted December 17, 2015 Report Posted December 17, 2015 So I don't get what you are saying. Shouldn't the government be more independent of organizations like MADD? Yes of course they should, unfortunately politicians are so fearful of appearing to be soft on fill-in-blank-here, in this case drunk drivers, they end up being hard on everyone including responsible drinkers. It doesn't take much of a stretch to see why MADD is viewed as being a thinly veiled prohibitionist movement. This is even more true of pot which is why I mentioned it. Mark my words, it will still be years and maybe years and years, before pot is ever legalized in this country. I'm surprised MADD isn't in the forefront of the effort to approve driverless cars. I can't wait to google one up with a bar myself. Quote A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.
The_Squid Posted December 17, 2015 Report Posted December 17, 2015 Driverless cars = no more money for MADD ooops Quote
eyeball Posted December 17, 2015 Report Posted December 17, 2015 Driverless cars = no more money for MADD ooops Even worse, there'd be no more need for MADD. Quote A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.
Wilber Posted December 17, 2015 Report Posted December 17, 2015 Even worse, there'd be no more need for MADD. There is a need for MADD? Quote "Never trust a man who has not a single redeeming vice". WSC
eyeball Posted December 17, 2015 Report Posted December 17, 2015 I bet there is for anyone who works for them or uses them in a photo-op when preaching about law and order and crackin' down and all that stuff. Moral entrepreneurs are amongst the busiest people on the planet. The market is boundless. Quote A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.
Guest Posted December 17, 2015 Report Posted December 17, 2015 I never knew MADD were so BADD. I always thought they were just a group that tried to stop people drinking and driving. Quote

The people who usually kill people via drunk driving are repeat offenders and are fall of your chair drunk. Trying to lobby lowering the BAC limit just proves to criminalize people who are drinking responsibly. Quote
