When you make these glib statements you lose your argument......they are nothing alike. CPC vocal voters don't get sodomized in back alleys by groups wanting to "correct" their behaviour. Make your claim without ridiculous "Hitler Comparisons".

Bob, I am not talking about behaviour, or what people do. I am talking about an opinion: a thought. Surely, you should be free to think, talk to yourself without fear.

May all our children learn and not have to live through such nonsense as debates/wars about their freedom to think.

People aren't afraid that what they tell a telephone pollster will affect their social standing.

Not to mention that people aren't telling pollsters anything. They're getting automated calls and they're pushing buttons on their phones to respond or they're part of a web panel, so they go to the website and enter their choices. If you're not talking to another person, then there's nobody to impress.

Bob, to follow up, I don't think that I lose the argument.

Sometimes, many righteous people want to forbid certain behaviour. And sometimes, many righteous people want to forbid certain thought.

It is one thing to do something; it is another thing to think something.

IMHO, the modern Left tries to control/influence the thoughts of other people, and these other people -obviously- don't tell the truth of their true thoughts when the modern Left asks.

Bob, do you really believe what people say on Oprah, Letterman, Daily Show? Or, do you think that they're saying what Oprah (and her audience) want to hear?
