Of course you don't actually make an argument and instead talk about what I do and don't consider.

The point is you did not make an argument. You just posted a number and assumed that a it means "government is bad". My response was there are likely good reasons for not spending the money and it is wrong to criticize the government simply because the money was not spent.

The Liberal government had negotiated a plan. It was Harper's Conservatives who torpedoed the plan because they're not interested in "negotiating with savages," since the party is full of knuckle-dragging racist neanderthals.

All the Liberal plan was a campaign promise to throw money at chiefs with no details behind it. If you believe the Liberal "plan" would have survived better than CPC plan once the details were worked then I have a bridge to sell you. The AFN wants money for "education" with no strings attached and when they use that money to line their pockets instead of paying for education they will be back demanding more claiming that government is still failing to provide for natives.

BTW: independent think tanks have looked at the CPC education plan and concluded that it was a sincere plan that was torpedoed by unreasonable chiefs.

Why does it have to be the royalty of another nation? The Monarch of Canada is already a distinct legal entity. Her personhood could be anyone we choose.

Because we were once apart of said nation, like we were also apart of the French empire, until the English kicked their ass........hence we speak English, and our laws and governance is modeled after the English...........None the less, the English being nice guys, let the French keep some of their stuff.....What a lovely Crown we have.

They don't need their own country. There are ways to go about it without that, but there is absolutely no political will to ensure anything for the First Nations. They can't even get clean drinking water and school funding. We're a long ways away from talking about protecting their language when we're not even concerned with their lives.

They can get funding for pretty much anything with the right accountability systems in place. If you actually worked with it instead of reading about it you'd know.

And yet you still have no source for this other than your tinfoil-hat wearing opinion.

They have a water system already built, it just needs to be upgraded. They spend $100,000 a year on bottled water for a few hundred people instead of fixing the system. And they are using their situation to try to extort the governments into building a $30 million road for a couple of hundred people.

Right and that is why many First Nations bands have no clean drinking water, sewers, roads, functioning schools, fire departments or hospitals.........In the rest of Canada, those Canadians living in those communities with such things, pay their community a fee/tax for such things, or pay the larger town next door a fee for using their services.......if the community leaders of said town screw up such things, they get voted out in the next election.......

Not so much in a native community

So? When the Queen of Canada is in the country, she's the head of state. Her viceroy is the head of state in her absence.

The Queen is head of state every minute of every day. The GG is only in an acting capacity.

Exactly, and in the rest of Canada, our communities charge the residents money to pay for the upkeep of said systems, in turn, such things are provided to the community........native communities are free to set-up there own systems and charge their residents the cost of upkeep, the Federal Government will even give them the seed-money or provide backing to lenders, but the native communities will have to pay the upkeep.......

I know she wasn't the head of state. That's the difference between us I guess.

Exactly:

Canada is a constitutional monarchy, where the duties of head of State and head of Government are distinct. Canada’s Parliament consists of three parts: the Queen, represented by the governor general; the Senate; and the House of Commons.

The Letters Patent Constituting the Office of the Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada (1947) authorize the governor general of Canada to exercise powers and responsibilities belonging to the Sovereign, with the advice of members of the Privy Council. The governor general is non-partisan and apolitical.

The Canadian Constitution Act (1867) places executive power in the Queen. However, in practice this power is exercised by the prime minister and his ministers. The governor general acts on the advice of the prime minister and the government, but has the right to advise, to encourage and to warn. As such, the governor general can offer valued counsel to the head of Government.

Is basic Canadian civics not taught in school anymore?

Not, never will be, nor has been the head of state.

Bingo.......

In today's constitutional monarchy, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is Queen of Canada and Canada's Head of State. She is the personal embodiment of the Crown in Canada.

In Canada’s system of government, the power to govern is vested in the Crown but is entrusted to the government to exercise on behalf and in the interest of the people. The Crown reminds the government of the day that the source of the power to govern rests elsewhere and that it is only given to them for a limited duration.

The Governor General and the ten Lieutenant Governors represent the Crown in Canada and act on The Queen's behalf.

The Governor General’s role and responsibilities consist mainly in carrying out many of the duties on behalf of The Queen. For example, he or she presides over the swearing-in of the Prime Minister, the Chief Justice of Canada and cabinet ministers. However, there are powers that can only be exercised by the Queen. The Lieutenant Governors of the provinces perform similar duties at the provincial level.
