Our national survey completed Monday November 1, 2004 shows the Liberals

with a 15 point lead over the Conservatives: Liberals 41%, Conservatives

26%, NDP 17%, BQ 11%, Green 6%. An analysis of the regional breakdown

indicates that the Bloc has dropped eight points in Quebec with the NDP

picking up four points, the Liberals three points and the Conservatives one

point. Liberals support is up in Ontario at the expense of the NDP.

Martin leads Harper as best PM by a margin of 2 to 1 and 44% of Canadians

would describe Liberal government performance as average.

Tonight on PrimeTime Politics at 8 PM EST, viewers get the detailed review

of the poll. This is also available on the SES website

Certainly the breakthrough province for any party that wishes to govern is indeed Quebec.

Reasons for the NDP's increase - Layton's unwavering opposition to "Starwars II", the war in Iraq.

I wonder how Quebec voters will respond to Harper's milking the veterans-flag flap issue.

And it's good to see the NDP ahead of the Cons in the Atlantic region. Interestin' times ahead.

Compare:

Jun 2004 Election

Lib .. 36.7%

CPC .. 29.6%

NDP .. 12.4%

BQ .. 15.7%

Oth .. 5.6%

---

This poll:

LIB - 41%

CP - 26%

NDP -17%

BQ - 11%

GP - 6%

These numbers are generally within the margin of error. I would be suspicious if the NDP growth is due to gains in Quebec.

If the Liberal numbers grow, even a little, expect the Libs to get more bolshie in the new year.

Thanx MS for posting.

August1991......why do you continually post incorrect data here at mapleleafweb?

Please correct your figures.

I would be cautious of reading anything into quebec and perhaps even atlantic Caanda. If you re-call during the polling for the 2004 election, the conservatives would be up to 12% one day and down to 1% the next day, the same happend with the NDP in quebec aswell, so I wonder if it is jsut one of those fluctiations but everyone on this site has been wrong on polls at one point or another so maybe the NDP is emerging in quebec.

The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. - Ayn Rand

NDP won't ever win a seat in quebec with the Bloc around, and neither will the Cons.

I don't think it is very useful to keep posting incorrect figures.

No, it's always good to post incorrect figures. More fun that way.
