Big Guy Posted April 18, 2015 Author Report Posted April 18, 2015 Notwithstanding the fact that the West has no idea of what is going on in the Middle East and (I believe) the major cause of problems there by meddling in civil wars, we also do not understand the basic tenet of the Arab world: "I against my brother, my brothers and I against my cousins, then my cousins and I against strangers." Yes there is friction between Sunni, Shia and the different sects in between, but Israelis and Western countries are "strangers". If push ever comes to shove the Arabs are capable of uniting against "strangers". bush_cheney2004 Posted April 18, 2015 Report Posted April 18, 2015 Iranians are not Arabs. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
GostHacked Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 Iranians are not Arabs. But that is not how the media portrays it. Specifically USA 'news'. They don't call Iranians , Persians. Quote
jbg Posted April 20, 2015 Report Posted April 20, 2015 Yeah, 1946 I think. Got our flag in 1965. Canada developed as a sovereign country in a very slow, progressive fashion. Even most Canadians think 1867 we became our own country and that's it, even though we were not a fully sovereign country until 1982. At least I was close. I know literally nothing about Canada. jbg Posted April 20, 2015 Report Posted April 20, 2015 Looks like Iran is getting blowback from their Yemen meddling. Saudi Arabia and Egypt are also considering strikes in Syria as well. Iran's other proxy state. This comes on the heels of most Sunni countries considering mobilizing a common army to combat Iranian aggression in the region. Maybe Israel openly joins the party. Aside from Israel the whole area is looking to get glassified. Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone."
