waldo Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 IUDs work for almost everyone and are nearly as effective as sterilization. Pregnancy is a choice. mansplain it for us all, hey! Quote
waldo Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 More insults. And I notice then when directed at others though you give me more than my share. Is the temperature getting to you even in this cool summer (caused by global warming of course)? no insults intended; none provided. Interpreting a statement as unenlighted is hardly an insult no matter how hard you try to fabricate drama. Quote
August1991 Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 (edited) No one will think that. Absolutely no one thinks about that. I disagree. Smallc, I would argue that you don't understand Canadian federal politics. How Canadian federal politicians play (perceptions) in one part of the country have an effect on their vote tallies in other parts of the country: particularly in Ontario (and Quebec). ======= All Canadians, whatever language, know only two groups of Canadians: federal politicians and hockey players. What other Canadians think of these two groups matters. Edited August 26, 2014 by August1991 Quote

waldo Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 You're wrong. I'm sorry you can't admit it. but, but... you didn't mansplain it! Should I fire up WebMD and start to list the side-effects, constraints, limitations of an IUD? The IUD is not a good, uhhh.... fit, ya fit..... for every woman! As an aside, didja know... certain religions have official policy against the use of contraception? But what the hey, you must know the personal details, life intimacies and religious conviction of the lady... I mean given your absolute definitiveness! We've also lost sight of the/your greater point! Apparently, women&babies aren't a suitable mix for your preferred type of MP... oh my! Quote

Peter F Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 Cornered nuthing. Waldo's absolutely right. Women can be pregnant and be MP's too. Shocking and immoral? I think not. Quote A bayonet is a tool with a worker at both ends

She just scammed the government. And the fact she quit, tells us a lot or she just hates jews, which is it? Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.
waldo Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 Sorry not in this case. She just scammed the government. And the fact she quit, tells us a lot or she just hates jews, which is it? she's sitting as an independent. Try to raise your personal low-bar, hey! How juvenile to claim "she hates jews"! Just how old are you PIK? Quote

waldo Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 What was her reason for quitting ? And is she running again?? you're in the thread! Are you saying you don't actually know the reason why she chose to leave the NDP caucus? Oh my... well done PIK! Quote
PIK Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 She said mulcair was supporting Israel to much. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.
waldo Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 She said mulcair was supporting Israel to much. you have such a way with words! I read it as a combination of her questioning Mulcair's leadership approach/style and that his/the NDP's current policy on the Israeli-Palestine conflict is too one-sided... that it no longer aligns with the more balanced Layton position she agreed with/preferred. Whether accurate or not, that's what she says. hey PIK, your favoured Conservative Party has also lost caucus members to the independent ranks in the past... some on their own volition. It happens. I believe Alberta MP Rathgeber is the latest - apparently, he had/has real concerns with your boy Harper. Go figure; again, it happens. Quote
PIK Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 And she is from Tunisia, so maybe her upbringing is why she is upset at the support Israel gets from mulcair. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.
cybercoma Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 Cornered nuthing. Waldo's absolutely right. Women can be pregnant and be MP's too. Shocking and immoral? I think not. Of course they can. That would be a strawman because waldo doesn't want to admit that her taking so much time off after being elected to represent her constituents was terribly irresponsible. Quote
PIK Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 Or waldo works for the government and expects entitlements like that. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

We've also lost sight of the/your greater point! Apparently, women&babies aren't a suitable mix for your preferred type of MP... oh my! I have very little respect for women being controlled by religious beliefs. Also, the likelihood that this woman is the about 1 in 1000 who can't tolerate the IUD is...well...about 1 in 1000. If it doesn't work for her, there are plenty of other forms, including the withdrawal method that is over 95% effective on its own. Quote

That would be a strawman because waldo doesn't want to admit that her taking so much time off after being elected to represent her constituents was terribly irresponsible. It's simple really. If she's shown to be right in her belief that Mulcair is too one sided, it hurts the NDP, which helps the Liberals. Don't tell Waldo that Trudeau is even more one sided though. Quote

Your own words: "IUDs work for almost everyone". Almost? in any case, as I read, she was back to Parliament, lickity split, after having her babies... there's enough articles/pics showing exactly that. Yes, a big deal appears to have been made because she brought her baby to Parliament. You read about Muclair allowing her to use his office for breastfeeding purposes (given it's proximity to chambers). So, what's the real story here, hey mansplainers? but again, the bigger picture appears lost here... the thing cybercoma calls a "strawman". If she didn't miss any/much time, what's the beef other than, apparently, concerns that one can't be both a MP and a mother (with babe) at the same time! Go figure, hey enlightened mansplainers! cybercoma Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 have you been right on anything through this discussion? How much time are you claiming she took off... and substantiate that claim. She was a lousy MP who couldn't be bothered doing her job. That much is clear. Quote
