overthere
Everly Bros. was a bit before my time, but their music was generally terrific. I was at a concert this summer that was almost all Everly Bros music, performed by Bonnie Prince Billy(Will Oldham and Dawn McCarthy). Moonlight Graham
They're old 50's sound was typical good ol' rock n roll of that early rock period, I like Bye Bye Love and "Wake Up Little Susie", those songs had an edge to them for the time for sure, I like their "All I Have To Do Is Dream" hit too but it's more of a pop-rock ballad. Mighty AC
I don't normally love the old 50's sound. I used to visit an aunt at least once per summer, she listened to oldies like the Everly's endlessly and I hated it back then. Anyway, when Billy Joe Armstrong and Norah Jones put out the 'Foreverly' cover album I listened to it a couple of times. I have to admit, I liked it more than I thought I would...possibly because it reminded me of summers with my cousins as a kid. The complete Foreverly album is on YouTube, if anyone is interested. Billy Joe and Miranda Lambert paid tribute to the Everly's at last nights Grammy's as well. Edited January 27, 2014 by Mighty AC
