Shady Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 The wolves are coming out to howl about his lies now. He is a scumbag , and its funny shady doesnt get it. I agree that he's a scumbag. But that doesn't mean the money raised for cancer research didn't happen, and hasn't saved lives. Quote
Boges Posted January 21, 2013 Author Report Posted January 21, 2013 (edited) You can't really prove that he's saved lives. No one is questioning Livestrong is a decent organization, but its founder is a massive jerk. Again he could just go Barry Bonds and fall off the face of the Earth but he's talking to Opera, so he clearly wants to do something about his horrible public perception. dre Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 I agree that he's a scumbag. But that doesn't mean the money raised for cancer research didn't happen, and hasn't saved lives. So If I steel your money or take it over false pretenses and give it to cancer research, then the fact the money went for cancer research "trumps" that your money was stolen? Interesting... Boges Posted January 21, 2013 Author Report Posted January 21, 2013 (edited) Robin Hood rationale! Again Livestrong doesn't fund Cancer Research, it's more of an organization that promotes health and wellness. There are Livestrong Treadmills you can buy at Canadian Tire. Shady Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 He cheated at a bicycle race. BFD. Cancer research received funding. It's a wash to me. I couldn't care less about the guy. Quote
Boges Posted January 21, 2013 Author Report Posted January 21, 2013 (edited) Then why are you posting in this thread? The only reason people gave him money for "Cancer Awareness" (not research) is because he cheated at a few bicycle races. So I'm assuming you're fine with cheating as long as it ultimately goes to the right place. BTW why aren't you commenting on all the people's lives he tried to ruin because he wouldn't admit to the lies he was spouting. Edited January 21, 2013 by Boges Quote

Boges Posted January 21, 2013 Author Report Posted January 21, 2013 And a lot of bad too. Again he could just sit at home and count his money, but he wants to be forgiven. Quote
Guest Manny Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 He did some good things like charity, but his motives were bad. He's a charlatan. I wouldn't be surprised if his charities were also found out to be a bogus ripoff. His punishment comes automatically, there is no need for anyone to do anything. He has to answer to his family, to his children, for why he mislead everyone including them. He's given them a reason to be really ashamed of him. Quote

No, he cheated sponsors and donors out of millions of dollars, and then used tax pay money and courts to sue people that were telling the truth. And he got decent people blacklisted from the sport and used the money he stole to intimidate good people. But Ill steal some of your money, and give it to charity and then we can see if you think "its just a wash". Quote I question things because I am human. BC_chick Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 Oddly enough, I felt a little bit bad for Sheryl Crow after hearing this, he's even more of a jerk and egomaniac than I realized. She was a democrat, he was friends with Bush, I imagine the doping was just the icing on the cake. She certainly dodged a bullet with that one. guyser Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 Complete nonsense. Please do tell us why.It would seem that for someone who has openly admitted he doesn't care , you do seem to possess vast knowledge of his lawsuits (pending+as defendant) his charity , his sponsors and so on. Why you know more than the rest of us, belying that 'I Dont care' attitude......but no worries. Your transperancy is well known and most people didnt believe you anyway. Yikes Quote

Yikes Because you people don't know what you're talking about. He didn't use money from his charity to sue people. He's wealthy from his bicycle races and the endorsements that followed. You people need to get a grip and stop the gossiping. You're like an old lady knitting circle! Quote

You're completely missing the point. His cheating isn't the issue (as I said in the OP) It's the fact he aggressively denied he cheated to the point of taking people to court. Now that he can't deny it anymore, he wants to be forgiven. Quote

He's wealthy from his bicycle races and the endorsements that followed. Money he earned from cheating and getting endorsements because of his cheating. Suing others because he was cheating and telling others he was not. If he was like that for the cycling, it's a possibility he used the Livewrong organization to his advantage as well. Yes I agree, we need more posts from someone that does not care about the subject to tell us he does not care about the subject, we've seen this with other posters as well, perhaps Shady stole their playbook?
