WWWTT Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 Why can't Canada control guns at the border? Maybe it is too busy grab-assing with union border guards over serious issues like wearing name tags instead ! I got news for you and the other wannabes with penis fantasies related to gun ownership.....the U.S. is not going to ban guns for law abiding citizens. Not going to happen. We are manufacturing and importing more guns right now...today...and tomorrow....and the day after that. Maybe you forgot to look at a map and don't know the fact that Canada/US share a huge long unprotected border? Facts again seem to elude you and AW. WWWTT Quote Maple Leaf Web is now worth $720.00! Guest Derek L Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 Advocating looser gun restrictions. His obsession with posting pics of his favourite killing implements. His glorifying guns in a thread about a massacre.... If he's responsible, I'd hate to see irresponsible! Actually I advocated, in the response to your post above, tougher licensing, combined with insurance, mental health screening and equal requirements as law enforcement…………..Perhaps emotionally unstable folks such as yourself shouldn’t have guns. bush_cheney2004 Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 And how many mass shootings did the dope do? Thousands in Mexico....about 45,000 killed since 2006. But since Mexicans don't count to some members of this forum, such numbers are ignored. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

Guest Derek L Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 Lol. Emotionally unstable... Because I advocate common sense gun laws. Good one. You clearly are, you’re devolving into personal attacks on my character, even after in a response to your post, I reposted my idea that I outlined in another thread from a few weeks ago to help with “gun control”, in effect, making our current licensing process further draconian, well including an idea put forth by a anti gun poster Eyeball, in a adult and mature discussion with punked (another anti gun person). I’m a gun owner, but I don’t start hurling insults to people over the internet…………As I said, you claim to be a gun owner, but you’/ve demonstrated an emotionally charged response, including personal attacks, all over a internet discussion forum………….. Buddy, if you lose your shit that easily, you’re the one that shouldn’t have guns. Quote

Pliny Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 What we have to face up to is the need to force treatment and even institutionalization in many cases. You really don't get that this guy already had treatment - perhaps his Mother forced him. Institutionalization was deemed passe in the seventies and the mentally ill were supposedly better off living in the communities. The_Squid Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 I haven't lost any of my shit! It's funny that you can tell that from typed words.... Over an Internet forum. Glorifying guns in a thread about dead children was in extremely poor taste DerekL. That's probably why you are on the end of so-called "personal attacks". Personally, I think anyone who would glorify the weapons used to kill children should be held to account. Quote

Bryan Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 This conversation always devolves into polarized bickering. While the extremes may not solve the issue, the bottom line is this shooting was done with legally obtained and licensed firearms, as is the case in the vast majority of such incidents. Something has to be done to make sure that people like Adam Lanza and James Holmes do not have access to firearms, and you probably will have to infringe somebody's rights to do it. Quote

This thread's topic is "Mass shooting"...DUH !! Don't Mexicans count? So how many mass shootings did Canada's dope do in the US? See above....with a double DUH !! How about you start a thread about Canadian dope in the US and see how many people respond? Counting Marc Emery in a Georgia prison ? I guess the people in the US don't grow dope? Nope...we grow...Freedom to own firearms. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

Something has to be done to make sure that people like Adam Lanza and James Holmes do not have access to firearms, and you probably will have to infringe somebody's rights to do it. Not going to happen anytime soon in the USA. US Supreme Court has already enforced a citizens right to own firearms with several recent and consistent rulings. Cities and states had to back off big time. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

Actually I have gone to far myself and must stop or I'll be just as bad as him! You're the one who brought it up when you claimed that your gun problem/gun death statistics are what they are because you border the U.S. If you're going to blame your gun statistics on the U.S., as you quote statistics for gun deaths in the U.S., I'm going to point out that Canada plays into our drug problem - and it's a fact that a lot of our gun deaths are drug related.
