Guest American Woman
As per MH's request, I am starting a new thread about the question I raised in the "Forum UPGRADE" thread regarding the forum Search function: Is there a forum "search" function somewhere that I'm not seeing? It's the 2nd tab from the right on the top of the page on my screen. Thank you, but that appears to be a search function for the entire Mapleleafweb site and it hasn't generated results for the forum. The search function that used to be associated with the forum apparently is no longer available as far as I can see, so I'm wondering if I'm just missing something. Has anyone else had any success doing a search for something on the forum? Any attention to his matter will be appreciated. Thank you. Michael Hardner
To add: You can search content that has been picked up by google, through their search by adding "Site:www.mapleleafweb.com/forums/" to the end. WIP
There used to be a recent posts tab at the bottom. That's where I usually looked for new stuff to read and post comments if I was interested. Without that, I can see a lot of the subforums turning into community silos, like on some large discussion forums where there are almost completely separate communities who never post outside their favourite forums. jbg
It is available here: http://community.inv...e&module=search Is it going to be added into the MLW site? Guest American Woman
I'm using it the same way I used to use the Search function before the board update, and I'm not getting any results. Am I the only one? It's next to the Chatroom now. Not on my computer. Edited October 17, 2012 by American Woman

Argus
I find it difficult to look for old posts I know were made by myself or other posters because you can longer include the poster name as well as keyword searches. Often I was searching for posts I had made on subjects, but I can't do that now except for recent postings. Thanks AM. Interesting information. The thing is, it doesn't work. I tried to search on the most basic thing i could "muslim' under my name, and it turned up zero posts. Argus
Weird. I just did a search for "Muslim" with "Argus" in the Find Author box checking "as posts" - and got lots of results. I did it again and the only post I got was the one I just made above. Are you inputing dates? I tried to use dates but I got nothing. No, I'm not using dates - but instead of clicking on the magnifying glass, try clicking on the "advanced search" symbol right next to it - I think that will work. .
