Forum Search Function

As per MH's request, I am starting a new thread about the question I raised in the "Forum UPGRADE" thread regarding the forum Search function:

Is there a forum "search" function somewhere that I'm not seeing?

It's the 2nd tab from the right on the top of the page on my screen.
Thank you, but that appears to be a search function for the entire Mapleleafweb site and it hasn't generated results for the forum. The search function that used to be associated with the forum apparently is no longer available as far as I can see, so I'm wondering if I'm just missing something. Has anyone else had any success doing a search for something on the forum?

Any attention to his matter will be appreciated. Thank you.

There used to be a recent posts tab at the bottom. That's where I usually looked for new stuff to read and post comments if I was interested. Without that, I can see a lot of the subforums turning into community silos, like on some large discussion forums where there are almost completely separate communities who never post outside their favourite forums.

To add: You can search content that has been picked up by google, through their search by adding "Site:www.mapleleafweb.com/forums/" to the end.

Thank you, but that doesn't give the same results. I hope we hear from Greg about this one way or the other.

Is it going to be added into the MLW site?

I'm always looking for ways to improve things, and with the new upgrade and skin, there will be additional features added when time allows.

Feel free to post a new thread in the Support and Questions section if you see an issue or would like to suggest a new feature.

Thanks!

I'm using it the same way I used to use the Search function before the board update, and I'm not getting any results. Am I the only one?

It's next to the Chatroom now. smile.png

You're not getting any results from the search form in the top right hand corner of the forums?

I was using the link you provided and not getting any results - but I just tried the search in the right hand corner and it worked. :)

I find it difficult to look for old posts I know were made by myself or other posters because you can longer include the poster name as well as keyword searches. Often I was searching for posts I had made on subjects, but I can't do that now except for recent postings.

if you click on the magnifying glass in the search box in the upper right hand corner, all of the old search options come up - as well as including the poster name in keyword searches.

Thanks AM. Interesting information. The thing is, it doesn't work. I tried to search on the most basic thing i could "muslim' under my name, and it turned up zero posts.

Weird. I just did a search for "Muslim" with "Argus" in the Find Author box checking "as posts" - and got lots of results.

I did it again and the only post I got was the one I just made above. Are you inputing dates? I tried to use dates but I got nothing.

No, I'm not using dates - but instead of clicking on the magnifying glass, try clicking on the "advanced search" symbol right next to it - I think that will work.
