Religious scapegoating? Where's that going on here?

Where ? two sentences later in your post:

I'm commenting on the religious hate rally that occurred in Toronto last weekend. That was the religion Islam asking for special privileges in terms of everybody else's rights.

Off you go.

Nice disgusting comment, trying to suggest that we're Nazis. Its also sick that you're suggesting that anything we've said even remotely resembles Nazism's values.

You're highly susceptible to being disgusted. This is someone akin to what people (you say) do when they accuse you of racism. If you're that easily disgusted, then you might not want to discuss your views on this board.

How about replying to the substance of my post ? And why again are we indulging in a discussion that's meant to scapegoat one religion - you haven't answered that one yet.

Off you go.

This is another teachable moment in English for Michael Hardner.

scape·goat   [skeyp-goht] Show IPA

noun

1.

a person or group made to bear the blame for others or to suffer in their place.

2.

Chiefly Biblical . a goat let loose in the wilderness on Yom Kippur after the high priest symbolically laid the sins of the people on its head. Lev. 16:8,10,26.

Please explain where DogOnPorch engaged in any scapegoating with this statement. Where is he casting blame onto a certain group for the ills of others?

Again, Michael Hardner doesn't even grasp the core of the discussion. What happened here was a demand, from Muslims, that freedom of speech and expression be destroyed in order to appease their sensibilities. What DogOnPorch wrote was entirely accurate. There was not even a scintilla of scapegoating taking place.

This is perhaps the fourth time in as many days that you're misusing basic English terms, and a simple consultation of the dictionary is needed to put down your ridiculous assertions.

Your politics are disgusting. You're continuing on with labelling DogOnPorch as a Nazi, although you may not even realise it. The term "scapegoating" is typically used in political discourse to refer to how Nazis persecuted the Jews. Considering you already made a not-so-subtle suggestion that I am a Nazi, you're now doubling down on it and accusing DogOnPorch of Nazi-like sensibilities by stating that he is engaging in scapegoating. That's two people in this thread (and perhaps by extension Wild Bill) who you've described as Nazis. Why do you resort to this despicable line of attack? Because you can't contribute anything substantive.

Well...they were. They called for blasphemy laws in Canada while calling for the death of an individual in some cases and just plain ol' Jews in others. It wasn't pretty and there were more than just a few 'extremists' at this affair.

And these demands are happening in many places around the world. Not just Tunis, Benghazi, Khartoum, and Cairo, but Paris, Rome, London, Bern, Sydney, and Toronto. Michael Hardner refuses to acknowledge the common denominator because he is committed to wearing his ideological blindfold.

It's pretty obvious. He's casting blame onto an entire group for the ills of a few fervent louts. Do you need such a long post to clarify such a simple thing ?

We've established your emotional reaction to my arguments. Let's move on - you don't need to keep restating how upset you are.

In other words, you won't own up to resorting to despicable attacks against other users by implying that they are Nazi-like. That's fine, nobody's expecting an apology from you.

I don't think that's true. No evidence has been provided to support your statement - do you yourself have any ?

Right, because until you read about something it doesn't exist? So until the CBC reports on all the Islamist demonstrations in Europe calling for the same destruction of freedom of speech and expression, these demonstrations didn't take place, right? Considering the CBC refused to report on these events in order to shield people like you from truths you don't have the honesty to acknowledge, it's not surprising that you're unaware of the same events happening in many parts of the world from the usual suspects.

This is another teachable moment: If a tree falls in the woods and Michael Hardner isn't there to hear it, does it make a sound?

So you believe the mass riots we've been seeing on a daily basis are just a few fervent louts? Well, there's yer problem....

Yeah, it's just a tiny winy eensie weensy fringe minority of extremists. Better to not pay attention to them. Out of sight, out of mind.

Sorry if I wasn't clear - I don't agree that I am disgusting. Now, moving on.

Do you deny that religious scapegoating was a salient feature of one of our major opponents of WW2 ? There was an entire propaganda arm that blamed a religion for problems of that era. I see it very similar to the situation we have today. Immigration and terrorism are being well managed by a succession of governments in our country, governments that are have diverse ideologies.

I don't see the point of coming onto a web board and showing videos of a few idiots, then tying it to a billion people who you effectively want to keep out of the country. From the behavior of you and several posters like you, there doesn't seem to be much interest in having a discussion but instead you get 'disgusted' at the drop of a hat, and go off on tirades in post after post.

Luckily, most of the country has moved on and is glad to adjust to the new way of the world: open, multicultural and prosperous.

What I saw during my recent 60 day vacation from MLW was the "Islamic World" go nutz over a film that doesn't even rate the humor found in Jihad Suicide Hotline while blood runs in rivers in Syria and little girls in Pakistan are accused of blasphemy.

The tour will never happen, my friend...
