cybercoma Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 Your posts speak for themselves, it is pretty obvious that you are trying to start something here, it was a simple joke not meant to insult the soldiers who have been killed or wounded, or the once who have been through IED's or the families of those wounded of killed. It is a non-issue that if the statement was made by Mulcair or Dion it wouldn't even be an issue, also the little issue that this might just be the figment of somebody's imagination as I didn't see a source on this adds to the whole thing being a non-issue. I'm not trying to start anything. You're speaking for me and telling me what I think. I simply asked some questions. You're free to answer them however you choose. Quote
cybercoma Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 Then why bring it up if you don't know what you are talking about? The opinions of people who haven't been personally affected (including mine), are not relevant. What did I bring up? I'm not the one that started this thread. Why would you post in it if you don't want to explore the topic? Quote
cybercoma Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 I hadn't heard about it, why not point out this sort of thing if you'd like to discuss his choice, unfortunate as they are, of words? I hadn't heard about it either and I regularly read a number of different and opposing news sources. Quote
PIK Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 It seems nobody can say anything that is not recorded these days. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

Not a great example, but yes I'd tend to agree. Many get their feathers ruffled over small things. Agree on your previous post completely. Wilber Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 What did I bring up? I'm not the one that started this thread. Why would you post in it if you don't want to explore the topic? I don't want to explore the "topic". If there have been no complaints from victims or their relatives there is no topic to explore. Just people trying to make something out of a quip that wasn't particularly funny IMO. Quote "Never trust a man who has not a single redeeming vice". WSC

Signals.Cpl Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 Wouldn’t NDP member Pat Martin’s reference to our Men and Women in uniform being “G.I Joe” and purchasing “War toys” be considered offensive? Here, I do have a link for this whopper: http://www.cbc.ca/m/rich/politics/story/2012/06/22/pol-cp-f35-committee-summer.html I don't find his comment insulting, its just the stupid, uninformed opinion of some idiot. Signals.Cpl Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 There was outrage when Mr Harper and the CDS made an innocent joke, but no outrage when this "artist" made a special little video with government funding. A really Interesting way to spend Canadian Tax dollars. http://news.nationalpost.com/2012/06/29/government-subsidized-montreal-rapper-manu-militari-pulls-video-from-web-after-tories-complain-it-glorifies-terrorism/ http://ca.news.yahoo.com/blogs/canada-politics/ottawa-funds-then-condemns-manu-militari-rap-video-190037194.html http://www.cbc.ca/m/touch/politics/story/2012/07/05/mb-james-bezan-video-rapper-manitoba.html Quote Hope for the Best, Prepare for the Worst
Tilter Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 A piece of **** cracking a joke about a pile of ****. I'd say it was fitting seeing as where it came from. Was it tasteless, I suppose you'd have to ask the families of all the dead soldiers who have died in Afghanistan under his watch. The death of soldiers is tragic. More tragic is the death of the thousands of people who have died on the roads of Canada in the same time period. When you think of the facts, realize that many more people die each month than the total number of soldiers die when we were at war in Afghanistan for the 7 or 8??? years we have been there. Also more tragic is the treatment of the wounded veterans by the Veterans Dept. If you recall one of the first Afghan wounded, (Campbell???) a double amputee, who is now having difficulties dealing with the Vets re prosthesis -and income from them. He was willing to go back to the Middle East after he had healed and was denied the opportunity by the Armed forces so now he waits for assistance from that dept. Now THAT'S a tragedy. As far as the rest of it goes Rick--- when you make derogatory remarks about anyone, any private or public figure---- sign your real name be it Rick or horse shi* Quote
