BERLIN — Israel is arming submarines supplied and largely financed by Germany with nuclear-tipped cruise missiles, influential German newsweekly Der Spiegel reports in its issue to be published June 4.

The magazine said in a cover story likely to touch off a debate in Germany that Berlin had until now denied any knowledge that German submarines were being used as part of an Israeli atomic arsenal.

In Israel, foreign ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor confirmed only that his country had German submarines in its navy.

“I can confirm that we have German submarines. It’s no secret,” the spokesman told AFP. “As for the rest, I am not in a position to talk about their capacity.”

Israel is the Middle East’s sole, if undeclared, nuclear-armed power.

Israel has nukes. If not, we need to find out what country is violating the NPT.

The Israeli government, which rejects the Non-Proliferation Treaty, does not admit to possessing nuclear weapons (the existence of which is acknowledged by the International Atomic Energy Agency), but lets it be understood that it has them and can use them. This explains how it is that the Dolphin appeared before the eyes of the bathers in Eilat and the Jerusalem Post published the news that it had transited through the Suez Canal on the way back from maneuvers in the Red Sea. As the Jerusalem Post itself explains, “It’s a signal to Iran.” In other words, a way of making clear to Iran and other countries in the region, which have no nuclear weapons, that Israel does and is ready to use them.

Looks like the USA is violating it's own policies and laws providing assistance to a nuclear armed country that is NOT signed onto the NPT.

1185 Formerly at 22 U.S.C. 2429. Sec. 669, popularly referred to as the Symington amendment, was added by sec. 305 of Public Law 94–329, amended and restated by sec. 12 of the Inter-national Security Assistance Act of 1977 (Public Law 95–92; 91 Stat. 620), further amended by secs. 10(B)(4) and 12 of the International Security Assistance Act of 1978 (Public Law 95–384; 92 Stat. 735, 737); further amended by sec. 737(B) of the International Security and Development Cooperation Act of 1981 (Public Law 97–113; 95 Stat. 1562).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symington_Amendment

The Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 was amended by the Symington Amendment (Section 669 of the FAA) in 1976. It banned U.S. economic, and military assistance, and export credits to countries that deliver or receive, acquire or transfer nuclear enrichment technology when they do not comply with IAEA regulations and inspections. This provision, as amended, is now contained in Section 101 of the Arms Export Control Act (AECA).

Well, we can now at least dispense the notion that Israel does not have nuclear weapons. It does not matter if they build them themselves or if and how they acquired them. This specific items seems to talk about nuclear enrichment, but not possession of nuclear weapons.

But this concludes that Israel does indeed have nuclear weapons.

lol...it concludes that Der Spiegel is in the business of selling newspapers. But, that's about all.

And what newspaper is NOT in the business of selling papers?

The sub sale to Israel is confirmed. That much we know of regardless of your thoughts on Der Speigle. But you don't buy nuke capable subs to arm them with conventional weapons. That's like using bi-planes on a modern air craft carrier.

Now where will these nukes come from?

Well I went searching for more info. and this was put on the net 5 hours ago. http://dailycaller.com/2012/06/04/israel-arms-german-subs-with-nukes/

Describe one of these Israeli nuclear weapons. Where it was tested, etc. Oddly, Israel is the only country on the planet with an apparent untested nuclear weapon(s). How do they know their weapons won't just go fizzzzzzzzz? Go find a magazine article or a news report, perhaps?

lols.

is dogongrandmufti denying that israel has nukes?

time to get the inspectors into the nuke sites and sanction israel if they don't cooperate.

Regardless of your personal hatred towards the place, Israel has yet to test one of these independent designs of theirs. If they exist, even Israel wouldn't know if it works or goes fizzzzz.

*Cough* Israeli/South African partner-ship *cough*

As to the OP, this is old news, I seem to remember reading about this in Janes about 5-6 years ago…..

Good deal!

We already can get oil from the middle east, but it would be great if we could get our glass there too!

If you believe Dieter Gerhardt. More 'alleged' stuff.

We seem to be afraid of a shadow when the monster might be a country like Pakistan, or one with leaders like Iran where highly enriched uranium can only be needed for a nuke bomb.

I have no fear of an Israeli nuke attack, but Pakistan..where nuke secrets were being sold? Makes me shiver a bit.

Thinking about it, Israel being the size of a Western lake could be eradicated by a missile from an Islamic enemy.Having warheads off shore in the event of any apparent threat or attack would certainly guarantee the expiration date of the aggressor. and so it should. Lets see how many in range....uh?

Yet somehow, the ignorant among us don't live in terror of being nuked by the servants of Allah. Even Glenn Beck hasn't yet convinced us, and he's on th' T.V.!

Meh...it wouldn't hold-up in any regular court. Either way, nukes have a shelf life. I've always suspected Israel has built a large stationary Cobalt Bomb for those 'End Dayz'. But, what do I know?

Servants of Allah. That is a dilemma. Who are they? There seems no definitive answer.

Apparently Muslims can't agree on the question. Westerners sure don't. Sectarian divisions are quite numerous. Cultural distinctions varied. Theocracies, secular governments, Kings and revolutions quite common. Servants of Allah. :huh:B) Which Allah? Which servants?

These questions are reasonable, and are fair questions. But they extrapolate out, thematically, to everyone.

Who are Canadians? People who overthrow democratically-elected leaders against the soveriegn will of the people? Who are Americans? Supporters of State terror, responsible for more deaths in a single case than Hamas and Hezbollah combined...multiplied? Who are the British? (Their tale of murder and plunder doesn't even need to be spelled out, even as they imply a celebration of it during the current Jubilee.).....

And so on.....

I don't think my office chair can handle me bailing it out of it like that again. Wonder what the quality of said glass would be like. I lol'd good on that Dre.

A large cobalt device could dust the entire planet with the radioactive isotope cobalt-60 which has a rather intense half-life of about 5 years. It would remain dangerous for much longer than that, of course. A long time to hold one's breath.

When did Israel acquire cobalt devices?

Nobody has a cobalt bomb………But Israel has the next best thing {Neutron Bomb}.

And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it. ~ Obadiah 1:18
