These guys are still in 1950 and they will never come out. Which is why we need to throw them out on their asses, they don't even know the year. Next they will be saying the NDP support Hitler.......wait a minute.

That is how out of touch these Conservatives attacks are.

The cons want to bring back conrad, a man that has paid millions in taxes created 1000's of jobs.

Conrad black took millions ..... if he ever paid any taxes... the government needs to give it back to the people he diverted funds from.

The Cons want Conrad Black back in Canada.. Good for the Conservative Party.

The cons want to bring back conrad, a man that has paid millions in taxes created 1000's of jobs. The NDP want to bring back omar, a murdering terrorist and the cop killer Gary Freeman from america who wants to come here. Or Ronald Smith who is in prison for murdering two boys. That will make a very good ad in the next election. Bring it on.

Yes...

The Cons want to bring back a convicted criminal and allow him to live freely to swindle/defraud people some more.

Right up their alley isn't it...one of their own.

Wouldn't be surprised if Harper gave him a Senate job...

I suppose it boils down to this, in Conservatives minds, getting tough on crime means exceptions for their rich pals...who they'll let back in.

“This is all about who you represent,” Mr. Dewar (NDP) said. “We’re (NDP) talking about representing the interests of working people and everyday Canadians and they [the Conservatives] are about representing the fund managers who come in and fleece our companies and our country.

Im not suprised by these polls. Im not much of a Canadian partisan, and I wouldnt vote for any of these parties to even run a lemonade stand, never mind a real country... But I thought that the Conservatives ran a passable minority government... But what we have seen from the new majority government is a real turn off. Canadians increasingly dont like the governments policy or their behavior, and thats why theres been a 10 point swing in the polls.

Really? You don't really understand the NDP at all do you?

No one wants jobs more than the labour unions that support the NDP. It's a myth that the NDP is anti-capitalist: What they are is anti-predatory-capitalism that drives work out of the country in search of the lowest sweatshop wages, provides unsafe working conditions and engages in conflict with workers.

They are also opposed to corporate subsidies and tax breaks with no accounting of jobs created and public money going into private pockets as 'profit'.

The NDP supports positive worker-management relations and quality jobs for Canadians all of which require a smooth functioning economy.

They also, of course, support health care and social and educational services, like most Canadians.

The NDP are more like the 'average Canadian' in that they support all of these things AND they oppose corporate corruption in ripping off

Public money.

The Libs and Cons, however, have a culture that includes flowing public money to the private sector with no accountability for its use - ie, political payoff.

Can some of you Con types please point me to a report of the use of public funds by private corporations - eg, oil sands $1b/year - that gives any public accounting of jobs created? I haven't been able to find any.

If you are concerned about where your tax dollars go ... start there.

Really? You don't really understand the NDP at all do you?

No one understands the NDP--- least of all you or you wouldn't have voted for them.

The NDP (neo-CCF) are a very progressive party. The catholioc Church didn't get around to letting the Nuns wear civvie clothes till the 1980s--- the CCF in Sask Made them wear civvies in 1936, How's that for Nazi???

Actually I believe instances like Conrad Black remind Canadians of how corrosive some capitalists have been on our economy!

Considering the CCF didn't win an election in Sask until 1944 some 10 years after your claim and had 1 MP and no MPPs in 1936, I am going to go with the you know nothing about the NDP argument and expand it to "you know nothing".

It is like you are trying to make us point out how bad your arguments are.

NDP has 33% in that poll, which I'm sure has younger people among that #. Younger people generally don't vote in strong numbers, and older people (likely not as much NDP supporters) vote in very high numbers, so I'm betting that NDP number is lower than reported when it comes to actual voter support, not telephone answer support.

Then again, older people are home more than young people (who often have unlisted cell phones over land-lines) so what the heck do I know LOL.

You do know polls are weighted to the last election right? So the same % of young people who voted out of the population is included in this poll. It isn't anyone who picks up the phone, it is a certain amount of people from 18-25, 25-35, 35-50, 50-65 and 65+ as well as a break down from provinces.

Now that the great leader of the NDP just called PS racist, the 1st of many blunders to come. And for any dippewr that thinks canadians will actually give them power, shake your head.

He's painting the Conservatives as hypocritical rednecks who aren't fit to run the country. We'll see how well it works.

This is libel, since you're well aware that this is not true. Moreover, it defames his character in such a way that you're seeking support to keep him away from his family and out of the country, so it can have an adverse affect on him. In other words, your post should probably be deleted.

So accusing someone of being racist is okay in your books?

No, but its not worse than Harpers idiotic Nazi remarks recently.

We shouldnt be so blindly partisan... Our national parties are SHIT and its an insult that we actually work and pay taxes so that these retards can carry on lower quality political discourse than you find on a 3rd rate political forum.

These people are a national embarassment. It boggles the mind that they are in charge of ANYTHING never mind a country and its economy.

The conservatives were already painting themselves that way. This guy just made himself look stupid, IMO, for no good reason at all.

He didn't accuse anyone of being racist. It has been inferred by the media and public from his remarks because he included race when saying the government's treatment of Conrad Black is different than their treatment of Freeman. That's a fact. They have treated both cases differently, as they afforded Black temporary residency and denied it to Freeman. I think it was inappropriate for Mulcair to include race in his question because it clearly implies that the government is being racist, but he did not come out and say that. He simply pointed out the government's hypocrisy and allowed everyone to fill in the blanks. The fact is it plays into pre-conceived biases against the Conservatives, namely that they're nothing more than a bunch of racist rednecks from Alberta.

That's true, but the NDP certainly shouldn't stoop to the CPC's level. The sad reality is that it was effective for the CPC; Canadians clearly respond favourably to these tactics (they have a majority).

Is this about the racial remarks?

If so, I agree. Mulcair gaffed (guffed?). Hopefully for him, he knows not to do it again.

And how many of these "fill in the blanks" shots can we expect from Mulcair? For a leader who wants to raise NDP support outside Quebec he's off to a poor start.

I think it's a bad move as well. But that doesn't mean it will negatively affect him. Heck, you can enjoy a majority in Canada while painting your opposition as soft on the Nazis! :)

In both these instances, the party leaders involved themselves in vitriol that is normally assigned to other MPs.

Mulcair should not point out an injustice???

You got it wrong buddy!

Mulcair must continue to point out the wrongs in our system.

If some have a problem with that then they are not fit to rule

Thats sais you be.

Polls show that the NDP support is growing outside Quebec.

The last person the NDP will take advise from is a conservative
