Since I live in Ontario, I need information on the phone area codes, especially Edmonton, does the area have a 613 area code? I went online to check and I couldn't find one, so to double check, I thought I try the forum since we live all through Canada. The reason for my asking was a few minutes ago, I recieved a call for someone in my family and I asked who was calling and if they like to leave a message. The reply was..." I'm calling on behalf of the Harper government and would like to talk to ???. I said he wasn't here and then I asked when I heard it was the Tories calling where was he calling from and he said Edmonton Alberta. The only area code with 613 that I found comes out of the Ottawa area. Is there anything to this, not sure.

edmonton is 780 and 587 area codes. maybe it was Pierre Poutine, did he have an accent?

I don't know if that is a serious question, but no he did not and this is not the first one either, we got one when the story broke about the robocalls and one last week and another last night but it was a woman. Are the Tories that hard press for new recruits?

613 is Ottawa and eastern Ontario.

Someone with a cell phone from the 613 area code could be calling from Edmonton.

Normally, I wouldn't have thought twice about the call but when he said he was calling from Edmonton and then the area code was 613-800-3121 and I knew that Ontario has a 613 area code, what would anyone think, why the lie?

When I have done online phone banking in the past what they do is mask your number to be the number of say the candidate's office so anyone who returns the call may leave a message. This might be what was happening here almost all parties use online systems now because they call faster.

Personally, I would think he was calling from a cell phone serviced in the 613 area code.
