bush_cheney2004 Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 ...Its only good as a showpeice, upkeeping the gears, but it is outright rape to be spending this much money on foreign military equipment. Canada's military should be built by Canadians in Canada. By Canadian majority owned companies with Canadian owned technologies. Yeah!! Like the American F-18's built by Canadians for Canadians in Canada...dammit! LOL! F( America Will that be cash or charge? Canada had no enemies 12 years ago Yes it did....see Serbia (bombed by Canada in 1999 Kosovo War). Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
Smallc Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 Well its why we're getting those jets... they arent equipped for the arctic so wtf are they for in your opinion? They're just as equipped for the arctic as our current jets, and after 2019 (when we actually start to fly them in Canada), they'll be more equipped. Getting the jets has nothing to do with Israel. They have a large enough fighter airforce to defend themselves (much larger than ours). Quote

Smallc Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 why get a 1 engine jet when you can have a 2 engine jet? Because there is no reason for a two engine jet. There are F-35 threads, move this there if you want to talk about it. Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 why get a 1 engine jet when you can have a 2 engine jet? Maintenance and spares costs will be lower. Why not 16 engine jets? Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
Sa'adoni Posted February 18, 2012 Author Report Posted February 18, 2012 (edited) The United States of America is the sole world super power. China wouldn't stand a chance against them. The US is not a superpower. It is outdated. Lagging technologically, economically, and militarily. Its active military is a fraction of China's. While China does not spend as much as US, it gets more for what it spends. Likewise China owns a very large part of the US economy. Here is an update and by no means is it complete. On the topic of National security - how many chinese in America, how many American in China? http://gulfnews.com/news/world/other-world/spotlight-is-on-china-s-military-might-1.982406 US force projection was largely done by their carrier groups but Carrier groups have become dated techologically due to missile system capacities. China also deployed many cellphones (they have more than the rest of the world combined) these systems can detect stealth aircraft. http://usgovinfo.about.com/od/moneymatters/ss/How-Much-US-Debt-Does-China-Own.htm US debt is 102% GDP and rising. Canada is 84% and rising CHINA IS 18.2% ... Who is higher... countries that are at risk of failure like Japan 197% gdp, Greece 116%, Italy 118% http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=2012%5C02%5C18%5Cstory_18-2-2012_pg5_25 IF YOU DIDN'T KNOW IT IS CHINA WHO IS BAILING OUT EUROPE NOT AMERICA! http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-02-17/asia-stocks-equal-record-win-streak-as-china-pledges-help-on-europe-crisis.html Edited February 18, 2012 by Sa'adoni Quote

Smallc Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 The US is not a superpower. It is outdated. Lagging technologically, economically, and militarily. Actually, no, none of that is true. Its active military is a fraction of China's. While China does not spend as much as US, it gets more for what it spends. It has more people in its military, yes. The US has 11 super carriers with 1 in reserve. One of those super carrier battle groups found defeat most countries on their own. Quote

dre Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 World peace is a long way off, and so we have to deal with the reality of today. They are the closest party to the centre at current. Guest Manny Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 (edited) I've considered spoiling my ballot but that sort of thing always seemed to be more of a drama and an ego thing. After all, what possible difference would my one spoiled ballot make? Would anyone care that I, Wild Bill, spoiled my ballot because I didn't like the choices? No one would care. But it's not about who else cares. It helps me sleep better at night knowing I did not sign my name to people whom I consider to be criminals. Your personal values may differ, of course.
