GostHacked Posted December 28, 2011 Report Posted December 28, 2011 http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2011/12/27/from-planes-to-trains-tsa-expands-spot-searches-to-union-station/ As many as 25 VIPR (Visible Intermodal Prevention & Response) teams began patrolling train stations nationwide last summer conducting an estimated 9,300 “suspicionless” spot searches of travelers. The agency has said the presence of officers with explosive detection dogs, radiation monitors and other devices will act as a deterrent in the nation’s busiest travel hubs. But some remain wary of the expansion of the TSA’s powers and its potentially constitutional infringements. “I guess if it didn’t feel like an invasion of my privacy, if I wasn’t being aggressively interrogated or if it wasn’t impeding my personal travel, I guess I would be okay with it,” said Zane. Yeah as long as they are not groping you, people are ok with it. It starts with a presence in the Airports, then body scanners, then invasive pat downs. It's started on the streets in some areas as well. So in this thread we post everything we see around us about information, control and how it's all being used against the general population. We have TSA in the airports and now on the streets and in stadiums, soon to be in malls and now making their presence known at the train stations. We have smartphones with back door access by the companies and governments. We have warrentless wiretapping. We have indefinite detainment. We have have cameras all over the place, we also have this coming to a street near you as well http://intellistreets.com/ . And now with the recent passing of the NDAA in the US, we can see martial law happening in an instant. It's almost impossible to know where to begin. But all this is not about combating terrorism or to keep you safe. It's impossible to keep anything you have private anymore. Thoughts? Quote

Jack Weber Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 I've owned a few Ford muscle cars over the years...including Clint's. Sorry 'bout your luck... Actually...If I was to look at a Ford of that era I would probably look at a 1969 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II (429 Boss) or a '69 Ford Torino (429 Boss)... Or a '68 or a '69 Mercury Cougar with a 359 Cleveland and 9" rear end... Completely unaffordable for me ,though... Quote The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!

DogOnPorch Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 Almost bought a Duster...and I did what seemed to be 98% the speed of light in a Chevy Nova. But, mostly Fords...just the luck of the draw I suppose. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.

DogOnPorch Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 My dad owned a 62 Pontiac Pariesien convertible which I think I'd kill for today. Made in Kanada. Gold...beautiful. Needed several smaller cars to pull it out of port. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.

DogOnPorch Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 My Dad owned a '65!!!! Metallic blue... Yup...those machines just floated along on a cloud at Mach 3. Mind you, they came with a variety of motors as option. Not every unit carried the 427...I think dad's was the 409. The 'domestic' version had the 250 V6 which I can't imagine being much fun at all...lol. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.

If I remember,My Dad told me he had the smallest V-8 possible...(263 CID...But I'd have to look it up) My Dad told me that when he went on his honeymoon with my mom he stopped at a gas station down South...All the filling attendants (definately dating myself) looked at the car and could'nt believe that car could hold such a small engine in such a large engine bay... I guess he learned his lesson because he later bought a '68 Chrysler Newport with a Hi-Po 383... Quote The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!

Most GM products of that time, for that type of car,had V-8's of different CID's,unless you had blue hair.... Ooops...I saw the previous post...
