wyly Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 not when the oppress women, children, gays you cant be for islam and support human rights at the same time choose a side the same oppressions happen in our country only to a different degree...you're not old enough to remember but I and number of other forum members if they're honest will recall when discrimination was common in our country... your ethnicity or race, religion, gender or sexual orientation could influence if you had a job or much you were paid, a home to rent or if you were allowed in certain establishments...it wasn't until the mid 1960's that american blacks finally gained full equality in the US...many here expect societies that have been denied the freedom of democracy to get it right instantly while it took our society hundreds of years to learn... If people would really look they'd see how a fragile a thing it is - it's only taken us a handful of decades to squander the most important part of our heritage.
