lukin Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 I know it's old news, but the great "progressive" John Kerry knew how to play the system. Kerry wants to increase taxes on the private sector to support all the government minions,(you know, state light bulb checkers) yet when it comes time to pay taxes on his luxury toys, he doesn't feel he needs to do his part. Typical progressive. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/38378992/ns/politics/t/sen-kerry-docks-yacht-ri-saves-taxes/#.Tnsh8tSwUUU Quote
Pliny Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 That's a $7 million dollar yacht? Gosh, he should want to pay his fair share. I don't understand. It's just all so confusing. Even if he parks it in RI maybe he should just volunteer to pay the taxes in his home state. Of course, he isn't "evading" taxes, that's illegal. He is just "avoiding" taxes. I can't understand why those rich, wishing to tax the rich, avoid taxes at all. They should be happy to pay the premium amount. Warren Buffet doesn't like to pay the premium amount and then makes up stories about his secretary paying a higher rate. It all appears hypocritical to me. Does anyone else see it that way? eyeball Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 I see it as another example of racing to the bottom. The solution is for states bordering Rhode Island to penalize it for creating a tax haven in their midst. What it's done is little different than a country that lowers environmental standards to attract investment. Shit disturbers of this type are the last thing the world needs right now. Shady Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 LOL! I love it! If you don't subscribe to every new job killing tax regressives demand, than it's a "race to the bottom." Quote
waldo Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 whaaa! If only the Bush tax cuts for the rich had just been... bigger, poor Kerry wouldn't have succumbed to the temptation! oh wait a minute - yes, this drudged up item is most certainly old news, that most definitively originated from Rupert Murdoch's FauxNews empire - you know, the same Murdoch who has been profiled by the BBC as a corporate tax evader... the same Murdoch who has been profiled by the Washington Post as a past frequent user of offshore tax havens. But I digress, Kerry did pay the taxes and, in fact, was so bumbling as to have actually docked the boat in MA during the initial 6-month period after taking ownership... an automatic action that triggered the requisite need to pay the MA taxes, regardless. Swift-boating Kerry just never seems to get old... for some. Quote

You are way too typical waldo. Waldo, I assume you have some serious issues, so I'll go easy on you. This topic was about John Kerry, and factual evidence of his hypocrisy. This thread was not about Rupert Murdoch. Start a new thread about Rupert Murdoch if you wish. Maybe even try starting a topic for once instead of spamming every other topic you don't agree with. waldo Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 sorry to be such a thread-killer to your puffed up dated nonsense... really... you had to go back and dredge this one up. How topical of you! Approaching a year and a half dated! in your topical best, how difficult do you think it would be to flood this thread with accounts of Conservative/Republican politicos exercising any/every avenue to avoid paying taxes? Like I said, if only the Bush cuts for the rich had just been a bit bigger! the Rupert Murdoch tie is most apropos, particularly given the incessant run FoxNews had with the story; ala 'son of swift-boating'. Google can be your friend on this one. As for your MSNBC reference (per your linked article), you don't even recognize or make the distinction that you're linking to a press feed (ala Associated Press). But really, why should one expect you to be any more accurate in the 'small stuff'. anyway, welcome back lukin... I trust you took your time-out with a dash of humble-pie... that we shouldn't expect to see you expressing the same level of heated exchange and vitriolic language you've displayed in the past. Quote

No humble pie eaten here little guy. And actually, I've never used any vitriolic language, so again, you have a disturbing need to make things up. You "told" on me like a little child, becuase I called you delusional. I got banned, big flippin deal;this forum, unlike for you, is not my life. I guess little men have to do whatever makes you feel big. I just thank my lucky stars that i am not you. Quote
