Michael Hardner Posted May 30, 2011 Report Posted May 30, 2011 I'm not defending the "attack by authority", Michael. Just pointing out that there is some justification for it. When you've read a few "Watch Tower" magazines and seen the logic of their arguments, is it reasonable to demand that you give every and all new issues of that magazine the benefit of the doubt? You would be forced to waste your time forever! Where do you draw the line? Is it not reasonable to discount constant arguments that are all so very similar? You can discount bad arguments (most of the time) without resorting to your authority. If people start questioning the basic elements of your reasoning - for example rejecting science as a whole versus religious dogma - then you might bring other elements into it. For the most part, the arguments should be enough. Even a little kid pointed out that the emperor had no clothes. Quote Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase ! Michael Hardner
