I wish voters would step back and remember history before voting. Harper? Cold and aloof, calculating. Seems like a very smart man, advised banks to tighten their rules because he saw the world recession coming. I have my choice of jobs, and the lowest taxes I can remember. I seem to remember him saying that Canada should have went to Iraq ( Before he got in power ), against 65% of Canadians wishes, I also don't think we should be wasting money on drug enforcement. Ignateff? Who is this guy? Comes from Harvard where he preaches to the people who put the World in a recession, and leads the party that throws money away on sponsorship scandals, taxes to pay for unions and champagne parties, that is liberal. Don't give Easterners job opportunities, just extend E.I. times to keep them living and under their thumb. Layton???? What a joke, 8% voted for him, but only 45% voted conservative, so lets start a coalition with the Bloc (Who won't even sing the anthem, yeah real Canadians) and take over the Gov. Sure students, you'll get all the free schooling you want, but make sure you take nursing or teaching, because the NDP will kill all other businesses. Vote for low taxes, and keep our economy strong, do Not rely on the Gov. for your retirement, have you seen elderly people picking bottles? Thats what happens.

Reports are now Harper won't get his majority and in Ontario he needs 23 seats and after the G20 summit and all the scandals coming out, voters are turning to NDP and Libs. Not to the Libs sorry. I know that this upsets you, but the fact that Ignatieff is campaigning in Toronto right now signals that his campaign is in full nosedive and in damage control mode.

I listened to Ignatieff in London. He literally sounded out of breath. Bet he can't wait to kick back with a nice glass of Chardonnay on May 2nd.

I saw it on the news a couple years ago, during the election campaign. Which doesn't make it written in stone. But hey the guy is an economist, and the stock investment letter I subscribe to saw it coming since 2005, so it's not rocket science. No problems with anything else eh? Layton cosy with the Bloc?(Anything for power.) Libs. the last leader was head of finance during the sponsorship scandal! Wikipedia says Ignateiff supported U.S invasion of Iraq, gotta hand it to Chretien there I thought it was a stupid idea. This would be the last thing I would expect you to attack, but I guess that we have a fairly strong economy and comparitively low unemployment, so not much else to pick at I guess. Mortgage rules have changed "since" the world recession, did Harper advise them? I can't say for sure. Did they listen? I don't know when banks started lending downpayments inside mortgages, but it was before the Cons. gained power. Our economy is unbelievably good compared to most of the world, and low taxes is probably the number one reason why.

A year or so before the collapse in the US due to too loose mortgauge lending practices, the Conservatives changed the rules from min. 10% down over 25 years (a level it had been at for decades) to 0% down over 40 years. They have since mucked with the lending rules several times to try to reduce the Canadian housing bubble caused in part by their own initial interference (and exacerbated by low interest rates).

Unfortunately it seems that Harper often gets all the credit for what was actually the best thing Chretien and Martin did.
