WWWTT Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 I was invited to this rally personaly from Mike Ignatieff himself(pre-recorded telephone message) Now I am not a liberal supporter but my current MP is Andrew Kania and I felt that this would be a good opportunity to at least meet him. I shook Andrews hand and we exchange a few words,I asked him if he could send more staff workers to the Canadian consulate in Hong Kong to alleviate the current backlog there if they are elected to power.I believe his response was a typical unmemorable political one and then he moved on to the next ass to kiss. But what really confuses me is "Why is the CAW supporting the Liberals".I thought they were die-hard NDP supporters. Is it because they feel they can further their agenda by supporting a party they may percieve as having a better chance seizing power? And what will happen when the NDP become more popular and eventually form government? Will the NDP punish the CAW for turning their back on them?Or will the NDP take them back into the fold? It is an immigrant issue.. a very typical one actually in their endless pursuit to bring their families over. This person went out of his way, to meet an MP, all to ask about the most STUPID, IDIOTIC, issue that a *CANADIAN* could have. This is what he considers to be a REAL issue.. something that involves non Canadians outside of Canada. And they are hijacking and destroying our system based off of THIS ISSUE. Quote ---- Charles Anthony banned me for 30 days on April 28 for 'obnoxious libel' when I suggested Jack Layton took part in illegal activities in a message parlor. Claiming a politician took part in illegal activity is not rightful cause for banning and is what is discussed here almost daily in one capacity or another. Your entitled to your opinion, and unlike some hear(Wild Bill) I will do nothing to defend your opinion or your right to express it. Because when you abuse your rights you then lose your rights. And unlike many people here I got off my ass and did something.I approached my MP and freely expressed my opinion to him and asked him to help me on more than one occasion. And there's a phrase for that. Its called "The squeeky wheel gets the grease" Ok now I never invented this saying or inventing "taking action into my own hands" but from the way a few here talk I did. William Ashley Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 (edited) CAW goes for the "best" party that supports their agenda. Harper has it out for Unions, the Liberals don't and they have a better chance of winning ontario than the NDP. I think there is still a lot of hurt that Harper sold out Ontario industry for the oil sands, I think that is what it comes down to, the CAW draws a lot of membership from Ontario and it was raped by Harper. The Conservatives have caused massive financial hardship on the province, including the CAW bailout of the AUTO industry by the PROVINCE of Ontario.. not the province of Alberta, Ontario tax payers bailed out GM in Canada. THE US FEDERAL GOVT. paid in the US see the difference on who cares. BTW the bailout was a massive embezzlement - the government would have been further ahead just to buy every Canadian a new car. A stock buyout is not a bad deal if the company prospers after you buy the stock, toilet paper of course has few functions. I think if the government had a plan for use of capital assets such as plants (for instance for an ontario works project) and it was protected from creditors a working deal could have been found. And no I didn't mean making cars with Ontario works labour necisarily... the Environmental push or production of other things, with the plant space and tooling equipment as long as the buyout had an economic return to the taxpayer. How is GM doing now? This wasn't small change. http://www.thestar.com/news/ontario/article/644596 Edited April 20, 2011 by William Ashley Quote I was here.

Topaz Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 CAW are holding debates and in some areas the Tories refuse to show up and use the excuse I'm busy, one said he had to visit retirement homes, at 7:30 PM. Most of the residence are falling to sleep then. That same Tory wouldn't show up to the local high school for the young voters. The Tory rep. said he decided NOT to do all the debates. Isn't it their duty to their ridings to go tot ALL and every debate? This tory may have to find another job after the elections. Quote

I used to know lots of seniors, and believe me, they're not in bed at 7:30. And unlike high school kids, they vote. Even the few young people who do vote are generally too obnoxiously self-assured of their own moral brilliance to vote Tory. If they were the electorate Layton would have a whopping big majority, with the Greens as official opposition.
