It's an irritant for everyone who gets involved in the electoral process and who works hard at the local ridings. I'm guess you're just ignorant - not that I have to guess, since you're ignorant in the way you're behaving, but also that you're ignorant about the situation, in addition to being ignorant in your behaviour that is.

And, I guess, being ignorant, you're not capable of discussing anything like this in a rational way.

4 ignorants , might be a record. ETA-oops 5 of 'em.

Well, what can I say other than I dont blame immigrants for losing. You do.

Had lunch with Parizeau lately ?

Anyone who says God demands he wear some stupid looking thing on his head at all times is someone to not be taken seriously.

Nice ignoring of the point, btw.

Its time to return to the mother ship Scotty, your work here on Earth is done.

But don't worry Scotty we have a new identity for you on the planet Uranus as the chief officer overseeing the anal probes.

Enjoy!

Neither are people who get their panties in a knot over someone's hat.

Ok, so we've established that you don't take Jews, Sikhs, Muslims, the Amish, and Pentecostal Christians seriously. Actually, you said "his" head, so scratch that last one. Women obviously are not included in your idea of people capable of running for office or to be taken seriously. Is there anyone you do take seriously? Just out of curiosity.

I wonder if the Pope should be taken seriously. He has a funny hat.

No.

I appologize CANADIEN.

Thanks to you I have realized that I may have implied that all space alliens are racist.

However if you carefully read what I have written I actually imply that MD00 should have not made any such comments that he has.

He's easy to mock, but he does bring up a constant electoral irritant with ethnics/immigrants. The parties should not allow newcomers - and by that I mean newcomers to the party - to suddenly flood nomination meetings with new members in order to hijack a nomination.

Interesting, isn't it, that you claim your problem is about newcomers to a political party, but then it turns into an anti-immigrant diatribe.

I too am not a big fan of groups of people hijacking a nomination process. But, unlike you, I don't get especially agitated on account of what the ethnic origin of the people doing it. And something tells me I am not the only one with the impression that you wouldn't be protesting so much if this was done by people who were anti (I was about to say anti-immigrant, but looks to me that you are anti anything and everything different from you).

Hell, I joined the Conservatives only because a bunch of old white guys had highjacked democracy and installed Rob Anders for a few elections. A good nominee showed up and I wanted to vote for her just because Anders is a puppet who doesn't do anything except when the old white guys whistle. Well, they managed to finagle things such that my membership wasn't activated till two days after the nomination vote. A total joke. So it's not just immigrants.

But since it was old white guys, it's OK. NOT!

The government can't give anything to anyone without having first taken it from someone else.

In a recent poll most decided voting immigrants will be voting for the Conservatives and PM Harper.

Impossible. There would be a massive CPC majority and no such thing as the Liberal party if that was the case.

Ok. I'm going to call for a second large sign on my lawn! hehehe.. let's see what happens

Update..

My wife just called and we are getting a SECOND large sign on the other side of our driveway!! lol!! This is great! I'm going to take a picture to show you guys once it gets here.

NO ONE on our street has a sign out of fear. We live right near Pakistani's and South Asians who are both die hard, life long Liberal supporters and our street is afraid to put up Conservative signs.

Well SCREW THAT. 2 LARGE ONES ARE GOING UP HERE!

My wife is worried about vandalism and upsetting people. I can't believe in my own country, I have to worry about supporting the largest political party in Canada. In my OWN country. I feel like I live in the third world..

(hmmm well I guess when everyone speaks alien, 3rd world tongues in the background ALL DAY and I am AFRAID of supporting a political party, gee.. I guess I really DO live in the third world. Policies brought on a promoted by the Liberal party.. The Libs.. the WORSE thing to ever happen to Canada.

You should avoid using English words, Candien, when you clearly have a limited understanding of what they mean. Diatribe? Look that up for me in your French-English dictionary, would you? Then try and point mine out.

As far as I'm aware ethnics and immigrants are pretty much the only people doing it. I guess I broke some big liberal taboo by mentioning that, eh? Maybe that's part of your 'unique' culture.

NO ONE cares. Although, how would you feel if after putting up these signs, your wife became a victim of violence targeted because of your outright arrogance/blatant ignorance... then subsequently left you because of it? Would that make you happy?

If you honestly feel like you "live in the third world" I invite you to visit inner cities in the US, the rural south, Mexico, and African countries to get a true perspective on just how good you have it... and if you hate it so much, feel free to move to rural Alberta.

In the history of the US and Canada, whatever economic or social problems are happening are always given blame to a popular and/or new immigrant or ethnic group by an outspoken minority in the white majority. African Americans, Irish Immigrants, Hispanics, Ukrainian/Russian/East European Immigrants, Muslims, etc. etc. have been cast as scapegoats at various times... but NEVER do these people EVER think about what REALLY caused the economic or social problem that they are giving blame to the immigrants. Why? Because they would rather find a scapegoat than admit that their beliefs on how the economy should work are wrong, and they do a damn good job of convincing themselves consciously and subconsciously that they are in the right. This is the type of attitude that will destroy both countries.

And if statistics didn't show that members of certain minority groups did not commit a greatly disproportionate amount of crime regardless of social circumstances you might have a point.

As for Muslims, they have social attitudes I don't like, so I don't see why we should be bringing more of them into our society. Aside from that, my problem with immigrants is no one has managed to show any evidence that bringing in masses of them helps individual Canadians nearly as much as it hurts them, or if so why so many of the immigrants we bring over wind up in public housing or in jail.

100% correct, but preaching to the choir, I'm afraid.

Regardless of social circumstances? You care to back that up?

I do not believe that any member of our elected officials should be allowed to run if they are an immigrant.

These are complete contradictions.

It's not the fact that they are members of any certain minority group is why they commit a greatly disproportionate amount of crime. It's the fact that they are in poverty, and that those minority groups have a disproportionate percentage of their members in poverty. Poverty breeds crime way more than ethnicity could even imagine. In the US, the problem is that these groups believe that they have no way out of their poverty, and they aren't given enough opportunities to be shown or to assist them in getting out of it. This is the problem with the beliefs of people like you. You can't see beyond the color of people's skin to see what is really going on and where the true problems lie.

As for Muslims, they have social attitudes I don't like, so I don't see why we should be bringing more of them into our society.

Most western Muslims do not have the stereotypical beliefs of Muslims... the outspoken minority that are terrorists cover up the silent majority that aren't and don't support them. Calling all Muslims supporters of things of that sort would be like me saying you are a communist because you are from Canada and we all know how left wing/communist Canada is. Doesn't make sense.

Aside from that, my problem with immigrants is no one has managed to show any evidence that bringing in masses of them helps individual Canadians nearly as much as it hurts them, or if so why so many of the immigrants we bring over wind up in public housing or in jail.

Tell that to the First Nations people.

Just a quick addendum... just look at the crime rates in the US or Canada where there is a large amount of Caucasians/whites that are in poverty. It will quickly start looking similar to areas where poverty is similar but there are different ethnic groups.
