Which programs do you mean ? Defense ? If so, I concur. You can't really spend 50% of the world's expenditures on defense anymore when there are no more countries to invade.

Certain entitlements are supposed to fund themselves. Yes, it's a Ponzi scheme but it works if it's funded.

They are? The road to hell is paved with such funded good intentions. Charles Ponzi was convicted and went to prison.
