ToadBrother Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 May not welcome in leaders' debates: networks http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canadavotes2011/story/2011/03/29/cv-may-greens-debates.html Sounds good to me. 2008, we were assured was the Year of the Greens, and the support nationally she managed to muster was pitiful, and worse, in her arrogance and stupidity, Elizabeth May ran against a popular cabinet minister. If we let the Greens into televised debates, then by all that's holy, I want to see the Marxist-Leninists let in, if for no other reason than the sheer entertainment value. Quote
Smallc Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 (edited) Thank goodness. May is a disgrace as a party leader anyway. Edited March 29, 2011 by Smallc Quote

Moonlight Graham Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 (edited) May is a horrible party leader, but she should be in the debate. If a party consistently has support in the polls a bit less than 10%, i think they should have a voice at the table. I don't know the use of the debates are anyways. It's just a bunch of liars spewing more of their bullcrap anyways. At least we can get that crap on record (even more!) i suppose. WWWTT Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 I just heard on the CBC that Elizabeth May is shocked. I am shocked to hear that she is shocked! I predicted she wouldn't be invited back. I guess she has to put up a fuss to make it look good for her campaign contributors. WWWTT Quote Maple Leaf Web is now worth $720.00! Down over $1,500 in less than one year! kimmy Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 She was a colossal waste of time at the last leadership debate. I think that supporters of all the major parties should be pleased. It'll give the real leaders more time to make their case and to challenge each other. Kudos to the networks for putting their foot down. Enough's enough, Liz. -k Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)
capricorn Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Good stuff. I wasn't looking forward to staring at that humongous grin of hers for two hours, on display even when she was making a serious point. That's another thing, had enough in 08 of her pointy fingers in everybody's face. I'd also like a return to the podium style. That kitchen table setup is fine for NDP get togethers. In addition, all four parties have formed a united front and made it clear they will let the consortium determine the rules of the debate, including who is invited and who isn’t. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/elizabeth-may-excluded-from-election-debates/article1962085/ Quote "We always want the best man to win an election. punked Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 No it didn't go that way punked. May was allowed in the 08 debates. Because she had an MP Blair Wilson. That was her argument then remember? Quote

punked Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 May is MPless was and still is... No she had an MP his name was Blair Wilson you clearly need to read up on this subject because you are dead wrong. That was her whole argument last time. Quote
capricorn Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 (edited) Because she had an MP Blair Wilson. That was her argument then remember? Yes, forgot about Wilson. He was not elected as a Green MP though, he went from Liberal to Independent to Green. And even then just for a few months. Oh well, at dissolution the Greens had no elected MP so Mae should be excluded. Edited March 30, 2011 by capricorn Quote "We always want the best man to win an election.
