Only 5 states do not have collective bargaining for educators and have deemed it illegal. Those states and their ranking on ACT/SAT scores are as follows:

South Carolina -50th

North Carolina -49th

Georgia -48th

...Texas -47th

Virginia -44th

Wisconsin, with its collective bargaining for teachers, is ranked 2nd in the country

Your thread title is misleading. These educators you refer to aren't private, they're public. That's aside from the other errors in your premise.

OPPS Im bad.......look...are we arguing over unions or bang for our buck...open your mind and lets make sensible choices not party line choices...my business rely on a skilled work force that you cannot find on a street corner.

You get what you pay for. The American political system is corrupted by money and until that is changed you can expect more of the same with big money interests prevailing. The political elite are bought and paid for and that includes Barrack Obama.

I agree...PM Chretien and the Grits sure got what they paid for! ;)
