Michael Hardner Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 A cursory check shows that those states mentioned fell at or below Wisconsin's levels except in one category (Virginia beat Wisconsin in grade 4 reading by two points). What does this mean ? Does low funding cause low scores ? Or do low scores mean that people value education less, and therefore cause low funding ? It's unknown - but they appear to be related don't they ? Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner

Don't want to gloat Yukon.....it's about finding a solution that will work for both sides. I use to have a company that was non union......went unionized and has been a huge benifit...have a trained labour pool available when needed for shutdowns....sometimes 35 men for a 2 day shutdown.....all workers produce certificates for whmis, manlift, fall arrest, and other training that is paid for and supplied by local unions....the labour pool is far better trained and available then i could hope for then when i was non union doing it myself.......i never thought that this would work out for my company .....but i have to say i am far better off today than i was before. Michael Hardner Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 I was almost led down the path of simplifying the issues... I really should watch myself there. Obviously more spending on students can result in better education, and this would be a causal effect. Better salaries attract better teachers, also obvious. What's not obvious are the many factors at play that produce well-performing and poor-performing states. Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner
bush_cheney2004 Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Gotta go with the Caps tonight, BC. Ovi needs to have a big night. OK...but notice how I changed the actual line score for a game that has yet to be played. This is the true power of code snippets...one can alter the data and it will still look authentic. This is very handy when it comes to arguing about global warming climate change! Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
