Michael Hardner Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Ok, it's CFL but DON'T SCOFF. As Peter Gross pointed out on 680 News this morning it's been 3 seasons (I think he said 1092 days) since ANY Toronto team made the playoffs. Considering the number of teams in the CFL, this is some feat. Thanks, MapleLeafSports for most of that. I think that the last team to make post-season was the Toronto Raptors 07-08 season. All the way, guys. By the way, the Leafs, Raps, TFC, and Jays have decided that they will focus on "rebuilding" ... permanently. They will also consider MAKING the playoffs enough to call the team a dynasty. And the Leafs shall be considered a dynasty because all of the cups they won in the Victorian era... Army Guy Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 One thing for sure mike is toronto fans have to have big hearts and hopes...And the leafs are a dynasty, they are one of the few teams that fans will pay full price for...as soon as the leafs come to town the price of tickets go up, i know what your thinking everyone loves to watch the leafs get beat....but why is that...because deep down everyone loves them ... dre Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 It wouldnt suprise me if the leafs made the playoffs this year too. The Kessel/Versteeg line looks good and I think they have better goal tending now as well. Quote I question things because I am human. And call no one my father who's no closer than a stranger

Shwa Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 Yeah, I know... I think he said "major" sports teams... so it WAS qualified. Hardly. The NLL is the "major" league for professional indoor lacrosse. The Rock have been in the playoffs and winning championships over the past 10 years often selling out Maple Leaf Gardens and the ACC. He is a moron. Accept that. Quote

So did CFL players back in the day and I think quite a few of them do in the off-season nowadays. They didn't call the CFL "minor." Edited November 17, 2010 by Shwa Quote
Shwa Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 No. I'm talking guys who played for the Rock who work DAY jobs DURING the season. Not all of them do and so what if some of them have DAY jobs DURING the season? The NLL is the "major" league for indoor lacrosse which makes Peter Gross a moron. Gawd, no wonder Toronto is considered such a loser town, they wouldn't even recognize a winner if they saw one. But at least the have Maple Leaf haiku. Quote

It's been "next year" since 1999...That should be mathematically impossible in an 8 team league!!! And that stadium issue is not entirely settled yet... Plus...I'll miss Ivor Wynne when it's gone... Shwa Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 Another example of how Toronto celebrates mediocrity: The man behind the Argos amazing revival No dis to coach Barker, but come on now - he took a crappy team and made them mediocre? Woo, they beat the Ti-Cats in a playoff. But let's make him coach of the year! We're number 5! We're number 5! Quote
