Seriously. The mind boggles. Or it would, if this idea of self-"investigation" weren't such a usual, servile response.

Israel is not some monolithic entity. Like the US, like Canada, it has many people and organizations that are critical of its actions, and many others that are supportive. An internal investigation will likely represent a range of opinions. Indeed, Israeli courts and internal investigations have on many occasions shed an unfavorable light on events and caused changes in procedures in policies, in the same way that such things have happened in other Western countries.

This is more than can be said for the ridiculously biased UN. How many supporters does Israel have on there? A mere handful, while close to 100 nations would like nothing more than to see it destroyed. An organization where dictators from repressive regimes lecture on women's rights, where heads of state declare that 9/11 was an inside job, where Jews are declared "not a race" in the resolution that condemns racism and "not a religious but a racial group" in the resolution that condemns religious discrimination, where the mere desire for the existence of a Jewish homeland is called "racism", where more resolutions are passed against a tiny nation that shows almost every possible restraint than against all the real butchers of millions combined, has no standing. I spit upon anything the UN says, it is a worthless sham, worthy of nothing but contempt.

It was good enough for Canada (e.g. Somalia Affair)...still waiting for the international trials....LOL!

Israel's existence is not dependent on anything the UN says. The partition plan of 1948, rejected by the Arabs, is not the basis of Israel's existence. The UN did nothing to enforce the plan or to support Israel. The reason Israel exists is because its people were able to defend themselves against the Arab hordes that tried to erase the Jews from the face of the Earth in Israel's war of independence, and in all the wars thereafter. Without the support of the UN.

Plus this action is NOTHING in the terms of what's happening elsewhere. It wasn't the Battle of bleedin' Verdun. I posted a video where Hamas shot well over 9 people in cold blood (and apparent glee)...all that is heard is the crickets.

It doesn't matter what organization or which person it is, the blind supporters of Israeli policy, will go to any length to try to discredit those groups who criticize Israel.

One of the worst displays was the reaction towards Judge Goldstone, a zionist and one of the most respected and experienced international figures in international law and human rights.

It's quite pathetic.

I wish to go on record as saying that both Israel and the Palestinians are completely and totally wrong. The world would be a better place if they were both removed from the face of the earth. Look at what we in Canada do for our First Nations (if that is the current PC term) people. And Australia is doing similar for theirs. But the stupid Brits, with support of most of the western world, with this huge guile complex about the holocaust decided they could totally screw a whole bunch of locals and create a Jewish state on stolen land.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

But the dumb-assed Palestinians continuing to shoot their ineffective missles et al into Israel justifies their being killed. They both lose, and they both deserve to lose.

The government can't give anything to anyone without having first taken it from someone else.

Tens of thousands of Allied soldiers died in the First World War taking the Levant from the Central Powers. More than all the dead in all the Arab-Israeli Wars combined. It was their land to decide what is what by blood alone. Either way, both Arab and Jew were promised a homeland...eventually both got theirs. That the Nazi Grand Mufti wanted his slice of the pie too was the ultimate problem...the Arabs already had Syria, Jordan, etc. His and others call to war with the new Israeli state ignited the powder keg. They indeed got what they deserved.

Two interesting sides of the coin...

Israel's military broke international laws during a raid on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla, a UN Human Rights Council investigation says.

Its report said the action by commandos, which left nine dead, was "disproportionate" and "betrayed an unacceptable level of brutality".

It said there was clear evidence to support prosecutions against Israel for "wilful killing".

How about "willful survival"?
