Topaz Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Jobs losses were up to 139,000 for full time and 129,700 for part-time, making the unemployment at 8.0%. The global recovery is still fragile and I can't see why having a global ecomony is such a good thing. It seems for North America, its only bring high unemployment state. No wonder Harper is saying he doesn't want an election, not a good time for the Tories. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/reuters/100806/n_top_news/cnews_us_economy_jobs Quote
Smallc Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Your numbers are wrong. That many full time jobs were lost, but that many part time jobs were gained. Quote
Shady Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 (edited) Some of you would make terrible accoutants! From the link. The 9,300 job losses Btw, I'm not saying these are good numbers. They're not. But only reporting jobs lost, and not counting jobs created is about as intellectually dishonest as one can get. Topaz, I expect better from you. However, Bubbles and punked are habitual liars. They always fudge the numbers. Edited August 7, 2010 by Shady Quote
Shakeyhands Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Your numbers are wrong. That many full time jobs were lost, but that many part time jobs were gained. Well thats much better!!! Let's lose all those full time jobs and we can get excited about part time jobs. Makes sense. Quote "They muddy the water, to make it seem deep." - Friedrich Nietzsche

I was simply correcting the error. These numbers still aren't bad. Most economists say that they're just a correction from job growth that was happening too fast. Quote

Most economists say that they're just a correction from job growth that was happening too fast. This will happen as the stimulus stops their will be corrections just as in the US they lost jobs because Part time census workers were done. This is life we knew the government would ease off and we would feel some crunch it aint to bad. Quote

They always fudge the numbers. Sorry about the mistake, I do have problems with the eyes at times. I re-read it again and I see it was a gain in part time, but, those part time jobs are being filled because businesses aren't forced to pay benefits and it doesn't give all part timers access to EI. So how it a person suppose to live on 10-20 hrs a week? These jobs are only good for retirees or students. Quote

By those loss of jobs, the government won't get their income taxes and if they start to suffer because of it, then Canadians will see an increase in their income taxes or higher deficit, which do you prefer? Muddy Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 There is no unemployment! I have had an ad in the Unemployment, whoops, Employment office for the last four days looking for general labour. Not one call! Quote
