Liberals Down...What are they going to do?

Recommended Posts

The Liberals will do what they always do, they'll sling mud at their competitors. Liberals see that their firm grip on power is slipping away very quickly and you can already see the desperation in their actions. I think Martin will lose more ground this week as he is out of the country and will come home to the Conservatives leading in opinion polls. Once he returns I think we're in for some nasty fights especially before the two debates. I think Canadians will not tolerate the negativity put forth by the Liberals and watch for their support to plunge after the debates on June 14/15th.

Has predicted the Liberals and Paul Martin are in full panic mood.

They have increased the crazy and outlandish statements about Harper

Only the Liberals can protect the Charter

Only Martin can protect Minorites

Note the picture..Martin looks so sad..Whats wrong Paulie things aren't going they way you thought they were?

Only Martin can protect Women

It may be crazy..But why are the Liberals attacking Haper in Quebec when its the Bloc are there real oppenets there. Talk about a campaign gone overboard as the Liberal campaign in Quebec.

They way things are going the only question for the Bloc is are they going to to each 60 ridings on election night.

I take great comfort to know that the wheels on this Liberals train are fully off and they have gone completely of focus.

Looks like things are going even better for the Liberals (not!) as the latest SES research poll puts them in second place with 32% to the Conservatives 34% nationally. Would be interesting to see the level of support the tories have when Quebec is factored out.

Conservatives edge out Liberals

Paul Martin's popularity is also falling fast, 27% feel he is the best suited for the job of Prime Minister vs. Stephen Harper at 23%.

The Liberal Party of Canada exists with one single purpose in mind: power. Without power, the Liberal Party collapses to - what?

In this case, I think many ordinary Liberals are thinking they backed the wrong horse. It looked good on paper, but the horse couldn't run.

Liberals are very practical. The only ones fighting for their lives now are the Anglo clique, Herle et al, around Martin. IOW, Martin is done for. (I bet Lapierre is already mentally walking away from this.)

Harper's real test will be the next election - against Dion.

Yes, things could get quite nasty. The Bloc, Libs and NDP might even gang up on the CPC ! After all, it's in all of their interests to make Conservatives the bogeymen in the blue suits.

Not sure if it's good for the country, though. And I'm pretty sure it's bad for the democratic process.

But then again, Harper's too smug and unflappable for his own good right now. He needs to be flapped a bit, and that might be fun to see.

Very bad for the Bloq and NDP to take shots at the Conservatives. Scare to many socialists and they run to the Libaerals, same with the the Nationalists/Separatists that make up the Bloq. What good is a protest vote if you elect someone you hate, like Bush.

I have noticed via the daily polls that whenever a party attacks the Conservatives the attackers numbers drop. Very interesting.

I really doubt the Bloc will attack the CPC, they would be no use in that since they only campaign in Quebec. As for the NDP they risk having there supporters go to the Liberals which would leave the NDP worst off then they were before the election. Which would be that bad, I would perfer that then the holding the balance of power.

I agree MH. He seems too smug, and I bet his wife reminds him of that. IOW, I don't think Harper is smug at all. He's just shy.

Canadians (both French and the rest) can be very cruel to their own. Harper must walk a thin line between apparent competence and arrogance.

The BQ will say nothing against the CPC. (Duceppe will try and say as little as possible in fact...)

Like the Teflon effect. Reagan and Chretien had it. Harper does not, yet.

The only explanation I think, Goldie, is the old adage: The opposition never wins, the government defeats itself. The best an opposition can do is provide an alternative when the people decide to throw the buggers out. We are witnessing exactly that. A change in crew is unnerving, and a little scary.

But democracy is wonderful. Too many countries never have (or had) that chance.
