Oleg Bach Posted February 7, 2010 Report Posted February 7, 2010 Japan after WW2 was a mess and with the help of America the guilt ridden Christian empire - they built the nation back up to be an actual competator - Well seeing that the American administration now owns the domestic car market - no more favours for Japan or Toyota - now they have launched a campaign to detroy the import car market in America. Looks like America is finally taking back the wealth they have given _ if they could do this to China also - The nation might stand economically proud again instead of being an beggar. Internationalism in the corporate world has become a disease...but no our buisness leaders are learning that without a national base there is no long term sustainable buisness. In other words our traitors have come home with their asses kicked _ I wish I could explain this concept to our Canadian leaders - that we their country men and woman are their friends not some foreign power with cheap labour. These elete buisness people actually think that other nations will harm our nation but not them - These foreign power will eat the billionare alive as well as the common welfare peasant - time for some loyalty! Perfect case in point - CONRAND THE RAT BLACK..He thought that he was to good for Canada and HE went international like a social climbing leech..betraying his nation - his home BASE and look where it landed him _ If he was loyal to us he would be doing a little bit of house arrest at the cottage..instead of being grilled for buisness info by his American captors. eyeball Posted February 7, 2010 Report Posted February 7, 2010 (edited) I don't know about all this Christian Empire and Internationalism stuff but I'm takeithing my 2010 Corolla in for it's first oil change on Tuesday and will get the 'fix' then as well. although it sound's about as necessary as an H1N1 shot. A squirt of WD40 now and then would probably do the trick. Speaking of loyalty, I'm on my 2nd Corolla and my 3rd Toyota. Screw the Christian Empire and the crappy cars it makes. How many more Shinto cars will you buy if they continue to be as lemony (not lemony fresh) as the Jesus mobiles ? Quote Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase ! Michael Hardner

I guess I'll figure that out if I ever have the unfortunate experience of buying a Toyota lemon but I suspect making lemonade with a lemon would beat trying to make it out of crap. And - let me guess - you've ripped the floor mats out and you're keeping a trusty boat anchor on the passenger seat (just in case) when you drive, right ? No we still have the floor mats, but we tend to keep a hand close the shifter in case we feel a sudden need to take the car out of gear. I guess this shim fix may only be a temporary one. I'd like to replace the entire pedal assembly if and when they start manufacturing them. Update: Given that Toyota has acknowledged that these pedal assemblies cost them $15, it would obviously be cheaper (and more reliable) to swap out the CTS units with the Denso unit rather than this fussier and riskier fix. The problem is time; it could take many months if not a year or more to change tooling and produce 2.3 million units. Meanwhile, making these shims was obviously something that a stamping manufacturer could do in days.http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/ttac-does-the-toyota-pedal-shim-fix-stop-gap-solution-at-best/#more-344089 As for the problem of sudden acceleration actually being electronic in nature, it may not just be Toyota's that suffer from this. I've talked to a couple of mechanics I've dealt with all my life and they just shrug. One told me there is so much junk driving around on the roads in any case that I stand a better chance of being killed by someone else's old rattle-trap as my new one. As my reference to H1N1 indicates (not to mention Climate-gate)...you can't trust anything or anyone these days and there's bugger all else I can do about it so... I'm tending towards just putting the whole thing out of or at least close to the edge of my mind as I can. At least with one hand on the shifter and one on the wheel I definitely can't use my cell phone now.
