The fire ball is simply a good size metorite. It is the angle of the shot and the trijectory that give the impression of slower movement - I saw exactly the same thing when I was about twelve years old- It was broad daylight and the sky was blue...a huge fireball of floresent green blasted by..from the south to the north - it lasted about 7 seconds. I am sure if I was down rage of this dropping object that it would have appeared to move slower and the duration of the sighting would have been longer ...Why is it that people want to believe in little green men and have a problem believing in themselves and God?

From the CBC story, there were three so-called UFOs. So it wasn't a meteor/meteors. But it was at dusk and they are close to many military/civilian flight paths.

If it was some sort of miltiary experment gone wrong or right, then it shows a reckless disregard for public safety. There is a huge UFO movement that is geared by design through mass media to dumbfound and befuddle the public - Take that American late night radio talk show...Coast too Coast..It has millions of listener and callers who have become like a damned religion - The more people believe in this crap the further the scope of good human perception of reality is deviated..hence a stupider more controlable populace. That's just my take on the subject.

Most likely scenario: a cell of 3 KC-135 Stratotankers heading for Goose Bay or Gander...or points further West.

Re: military experiments...the United States has its own missile ranges.

'Little Green Men' face the same problems we do re: space travel. The nearest star is over 4 light years away...and it's uninhabited.

You could travel for eternity at the speed of light and never get anywhere. Just because the numbers dictate that there MUST be life else where..does not make it so. The possiblity does exist that we are the only life that ever came into being - and that would make us the mind of God , literally in a nut shell.

As for the conspriacy theorist - I have seen some odd things...low flying black choppers going over the farm at high speed..unmarked and very American looking - also a craft with what looked like a huge spray can attatched to the side - feeling faint yet?

I don't go for any conspiracy theories. This one is explainable and I think I've given the best explanation. But, you're not alone in your paranoia, as mentioned. Read the CBC comment section for those stories for some rather incredible conclusions. The USA is very busy causing meteors...earthquakes...snowstorms...chem trails...plagues of locusts...bad breath...reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond...you name it.

Re: life elsewhere. Anyone who says we're alone in the Universe has no concept how large it is...how many galaxies of various types there are...how many stars exist in each of those.

Amazing how the US is capable of all these things yet they haven't been able to get out of Iraq and Afghanistan, deal with Iran and North Korea, control the weather over their own country or balance a budget. It has been said that even paranoids have enemies but mostly they are just paranoid.

Honestly how can the Government not be willing to publish the entire report, I mean it clearly says that NORAD new nothing of this (surprise, surprise) and the RCMP seem to be stumped. If no one can explain what the hell it is, shouldn't be we releasing the full disclosure report, seems like a very odd story to me. "The government has blocked nine pages and a several paragraphs of the UFO documents from public release", seems like a lot to block out if you ask me, I understand they can't give away vital military secrets (if we even have any) but seriously...

"The object is not a ballistic missile, not a cruise missile in boost phase nor a cruise missile in-flight phase. It is also not a licensed model rocket launcher." So says DND, but this really doesn't help explain anything, I mean we could sit here and play the whole It's Not This game all day. Although they claim it isn't a missle who the hell knows, is it just by pure luck that France tested new M51 ballistic missles around the same time, personally the story kind of discredits itself when the experts say "its not a ballistic missile" but then it goes on to say "they tested a new M51 on Jan 27th not 25th", like that sounds real believable. All I'm saying is if they know what the hell it is they should tell us so we know whats going, they are just leaving the door open for someone to start saying it's North Korea, no wait Iran.

I don't adhere to any political school of thought, I believe in calling it like you see it, if its a good idea who cares if its Liberal, Conservative or Socialist. If it's going to benefit the country I'm all for it.

There are no UFOs - there is absolutely no life out there what so ever. Sure you can play the numbers game and imagine that because of the vastness of space that for sure there might be someone out there..Or in the alternative it might be like the sand on the beach - not one grain is aware of anything...and only one grain is aware and that could be us. THAT would make US precious - and we would give more heart to solving our problems instead of waiting for frinking alliens.

Woops, sorry probably should have taken a better look. Read it on the news and it caught my eye as another stupid political decision that I figured people who know about...

If it was a military test - where better to test it than Newfieland.

If the French tested their SLBM anywhere near Europe, everyone and their dog would see it. How many Newfies happen to be looking at the sky at that exact point in time?

The only place on earth it could probably be dismissed as a UFO is at the poles, or maybe Austrailia or Canada. They can also test the radar avoidance in those areas - by simply seeing if there is a quote about it in the newspapers in the morning.

Norad missed them, the French have a nuke that can slip past detection... Not surprising really.

The last French test of a SLBM was June 1/2004 over French Guyana. South America being of course a decent place to test SLBM's as well.

China has quite a few satellites that are infrared upper atmosphere scanners - which will tend to pick them up a lot easier and quicker.
