Topaz Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Pernell Roberts, who played Adam Cartwright, has died of cancer, the same cancer that took Micheal Landon. I'm sure most of us watched this show one time or another and I do believe it was the last of the western to leave the networks. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2633127/pernell_roberts_bonanzas_oldest_surviving.html?cat=2 Quote
August1991 Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 (edited) I had to do this: Pernell Roberts was born in May 1928. Living to 81, he had a good kick at the can. ==== We are entering into a period of death. Expect many more announcements like this. The West in general will become like a Russian village today. Quiet, calm and elderly. Edited January 27, 2010 by August1991 Quote
Jade Dragon Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 I remember Mr. Roberts. Sadly his career nose-dived after he left Bonanaza (strangely of his own choice). Quote

Nope...the last major (USA) network western was "The Magnificent Seven" which aired on CBS for two seasons (1998 - 2000). CBS' Gunsmoke also ran in prime time until 1975, later than Bonanza (1973). Oleg Bach Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 The days have past when the great and wise partriach kept society safe and sound..Bush once said to a student audience..."listen to your mother" - That was his total down fall - he should have ignored his nasty minded power gulping bitch man mother.
