Wait times are sometimes a factor...and sometimes not. Anecdotes though, always have about the same value.

And "anecdotes," when they're one's own experience, have more value than your comment. ;)

My daughter's BF was born in Sweden, and spent half his life there, so he's not an "Ugly American," bent on unfairly criticizing Canada's healthcare system.

His sister, also born in Sweden, who married an Canadian and gave birth to Canadian children, has no reason to spitefully criticize the Canadian healthcare system.

So given the facts, I'll conclude what I will.

What facts have you presented? Canada does have longer elective waits than many first world countries....but they are by and large getting shorter and are less and less of a problem.

The odd thing is that Canada doesnt have much in the way of weight times for most procedures. What we usually have are bottlenecks for certain services like MRI's and Hip Replacements but tose bottlenecks are normally fixed before too long.

Can you tell us what procedure she needed?

I question things because I am human. And call no one my father who's no closer than a stranger

Those two things probably remain the real problem in Canada...especially MRIs. The MRI problem is mostly a problem of lack of technicians though, and in a few years, that should begin to subside.

I don't know what procedure she'd need. I only know what her symptoms were, the most serious, coughing up/throwing up blood clots, and it wasn't comforting to know that her BF, based on his Canadian sister's experience, thought that maybe she should shouldn't go, because she likely couldn't get healthcare in Canada should her symptoms persist, because they have "ridiculously long wait times."

The likelihood of waiting any length of time of an emergency, emergent, or urgent situation is near zero.

This is simply not true. There are varying wait times for all of these depending on province.

Economics trumps Virtue.

Should be a massacre. Brock will fight Shane Carwin next week, and the outcome is anybody's guess.
