You might not have even heard of this. Cause it hasn't been all that publicized by the media - for some odd reason.

The Conservative Party of Canada has won a decisive victory in Federal Court over Elections Canada in its long-running dispute over the so-called "in-and-out" election financing scheme.

Justice Luc Martineau in Ottawa set aside the chief electoral officer's decision not to approve $1.1 million in Conservative Party expenses challenged by Elections Canada after the 2006 federal election.

Tories Win In and Out Court Case

Gee, what a shocker to all those lefties who were sure the Tories had no case.

This was an IMMENSE story, with huge headlines in all media, with long commentary by the pundits, with everything short of media specials on TV. Now the judge comes out with a decisive ruling and you're reduced to citing AOL to show that the media aren't ignoring it?

I watched the news yesterday. There was no mention of it on the networks. No mention on the news this morning - tv or radio. It wasn't headlined on any of the on-line news media either.

I bet if the judge had come down on the side of Elections Canada this story would have bumped Haiti right off the news. There'd be thrilled media pundits actively and energetically doing the old "round table" bit on every news show and headlines on the front page of every newspaper.

I posted it in the thread on the RCMP raid yesterday, you should see how the left wingers dismissed it around here, and tried to argue that this still doesn't prove anything.

On CBC, they had on a rep. from the three parties and they were talking about this. There is still hearings to be heard on some parts, and the Libs rep. said they (Tories) can still face criminal charges if found guilty so, its not 100% done as yet.

Well said Argus. This reminds me of the smear job The New York Times did to John McCain regarding an alleged affair. It was a front page, top of the fold story. But their retraction to the story was buried 10+ pages deep, several days later.

It's all part of the liberal drive-by media.

or... Shady's just making it up! I can't seem to find that retraction you speak to... in fact, you can find a specific "Note to Readers" within the same online article; specifically

An article published on February 21, 2008, about Senator John McCain and his record as an ethics reformer who was at times blind to potential conflicts of interest included references to Vicki Iseman, a Washington lobbyist. The article did not state, and The Times did not intend to conclude, that Ms. Iseman had engaged in a romantic affair with Senator McCain or an unethical relationship on behalf of her clients in breach of the public trust.

is that the "liberal drive-by media" retraction, you're speaking to, Shady? Right there with the article... in fact, not a retraction at all - hey, Shady?
