Kliege Posted May 23, 2004 Report Posted May 23, 2004 This election we will see if Jack Layton can prove himself. From Martin, Harper and Layton they will have have a choice to prove themselves men of quality. Quote
Dennis Posted May 23, 2004 Report Posted May 23, 2004 "Let's Jack It Up"??? I'm not sure if mainstream Canadians, who are looking for strong leadership from their poltical parties, are ready to vote for what looks like the Geek Squad. I mean, give me a break. Jack Layton's communications very often border on kindergarten stuff. The only people who seem to be buying into it is the Hard Left - not mainstream Canadians. And no wonder. "Jack It Up" Quote
maplesyrup Posted May 23, 2004 Author Report Posted May 23, 2004 Layton kicks off election drive with night of music At the sound check, Page called Layton a man of ideas and integrity that young people, who tend to stay away from the polls, can trust."He's a progressive, and that is frankly what I think young people are looking for — an optimistic, progressive, ideas-person like Jack," Page said. His choice of words reflect the party's slogan: "New energy. A positive choice." The party is counting on that positive track to reach out to an electorate that has been shown to be dissatisfied in several recent polls. Layton, 53, is hoping his evening of whooping it up with artists and young people on the shores of Lake Ontario will help whip up support in Toronto. "We're an ideas country," he said before the show. "We crank out ideas in many different ways, and arts and culture are a very, very big part of the economy, not to mention of our well-being." Sounds like a happenin'. Quote An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. It's being able to differentiate between what you do know and what you don't. Stoker Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Did Jack and the Band get "jacked up on dope" in a private and relaxing enviroment after the party?
