Shwa
Well, I guess emotionality does have its place, but on MLW it should be used sparingly, preferably with a link to other places where real arguments are made. Be careful or people will start referring to you as Grampa Hardner. Emotionality, tactility, sound - all of those are legitimate means to get information across in a discussion - even through a text based web forum in very rudimentary ways. It is just a matter of time before those other mediums are postively integrated - as extensions of ourselves over great distances. Too bad there isnt a utility to rip only specific portions of a video to post instead of a whole video because I don't think linear YouTube video is quite mature enough to be intergrated to any great degree. Then again, who knows what the nextgen interactive video medium will look like?
maple_leafs182
How is it possible that destroying their own symbol does not make them look weak ? Where has it happened that a stand-alone power has had their symbol destroyed and it didn't add to insecurity and unstability. They really don't care about us. Hitler burned down his parliament building(the Reichstag) and blamed it on foreign terrorists. Hitler "The great masses of the people will more easily fall victims to a big lie than to a small one." "The size of the lie is a definite factor in causing it to be believed, for the vast masses of a nation are in the depths of their hearts more easily deceived than they are consciously and intentionally bad. The primitive simplicity of their minds renders them a more easy prey to a big lie than a small one, for they themselves often tell little lies, but would be ashamed to tell big lies." "What good fortune for governments that the people do not think." "Why nationalize industry when you can nationalize the people?" "Terrorism is the best political weapon for nothing drives people harder than a fear of sudden death." "Demoralize the enemy from within by surprise, terror, sabotage, assassination. This is the war of the future." "All propaganda must be so popular and on such an intellectual level, that even the most stupid of those toward whom it is directed will understand it... Through clever and constant application of propaganda, people can be made to see paradise as hell, and also the other way around, to consider the most wretched sort of life as paradise." "The efficiency of the truly national leader consists primarily in preventing the division of the attention of a people, and always in concentrating it on a single enemy." "Without law and order our nation cannot survive." "The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subject races to possess arms. History shows that all conquerors who have allowed the subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by so doing. Indeed, I would go so far as to say that the supply of arms to the underdogs is a sine qua non for the overthrow of any sovereignty." "This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilised nation has full gun registration! Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!" "It is thus necessary that the individual should finally come to realize that his own ego is of no importance in comparison with the existence of the nation, that the position of the individual is conditioned solely by the interests of the nation as a whole." "National Socialism will use its own revolution for establishing a new world order." "Believe me, National Socialism would not be worth anything if it were to be confined to Germany and did not secure the rule of the superior race over the whole world for at least one or two thousand years." "For the folk-community does not exist on the fictitious value of money but on the results of productive labour, which is what gives money its value." "We must take steps to ensure our domestic security and protect our homeland." (George W. Bush. An evil exists that threatens every man, woman and child of this great nation) can you see why I think this is important? They created WMDs for Iraqs so why kill 3000 of their own kind - not just their own people but their own subclass of their people ? I'll say it again, they don't care about us. This is why poverty exists. We have been reducing conflict, disease and starvation under the New World Order. We have democracy. We have criticism and debate, but this debate is ridiculous. Reducing conflicts??, if anything we are on the verge of world war 3. The G8 and G20 is more proof we are headed to a world government. Here CNN, happy... mainstream media. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKZs6NV5-9M The g20 are coming to Toronto in june Love the democracy. George Carlin "The things that matter in this country have been reduced in choice. There are two political parties. There are a handful of insurance companies. There are about 6 or 7 information [outlets]. But, if you want a bagel, there are 23 flavors because you have the illusion of choice. You have the illusion of choice. You don’t get the important stuff. You have no “freedom of choice." "All of this back and forth debate implies that there are really choices in this country---that we really have choices. It’s an illusion. There is no real choice. They say “freedom of choice”. You’re given the illusion of choice. Americans are meant to feel free by the exercise of meaningless choice. You know what the choices are in this country? Paper or plastic, aisle or window, smoking or no smoking. These are your real choices. You don’t get to choose anything." Can you guys wake up already. Look what is happening. Edited December 27, 2009 by maple_leafs182
bush_cheney2004
....Can you guys wake up already. Look what is happening. OK...I woke up...first thing I noticed is that you live in Canada...so buck, buck... WTF? Can you offer up anything without such a pronounced Amerikanski spin to substantiate your vision of the global future? Do you think the late George Carlin is really big in China or India? Just something...anything which might remotely suggest you have a clue about your own nation's economy, political leadership, and choices. Surely there are some whackjob New World Order web sites in Canada...LOL! How about some hot Bilderberg Group action? Shwa
....Can you guys wake up already. Look what is happening. No need to wake up since my Sumerian clay tablet comment was sadly over-looked. Did we mention the Who line in Won't Get Fooled Again about 'meet the new boss, same as the old boss?' ML182 - all you really have done is overstated the obvious and that is OK, but not any great life-changing revelation. If you feel powerless against this backdrop sign up for Oxfamor the Peace Corps. Surely there are some whackjob New World Order web sites in Canada...LOL! All under the control of WalMart now I am afraid to say. GostHacked
Ah. Then, as you know, this hasn't been the case. (And since you know, I can't imagine the purpose of your pretending to ask me about it.) Most oddly, this is all a response to your own question: "So if the U.S. has "dramatically escalated military action since WW2" when was the last time they were in a total war?" Which is highly confusing. Are you claiming that we can't assert a country has "dramatically escalated military action" unless they're involved in a "total war"? Why? You don't need Total War. You just need half a war to accomplish the same thing.
maple_leafs182
So you guys really don't think that we are headed to a New World Order? It is happening right in front of our eyes. System of a Down - Tricks to Deceive "Repeat monotonous images misleading and fake propaganda texts showing a way that the mind cant take Many believe whats in front and never need ask why feeling happy and contented by this lie until they die" Rise Against - Entertainment "All we are is entertainment Caught up in our own derangement Tell us what to say and what to do All we are are pretty faces Picture perfect bottled rage Packaged synthesized versions of you" Muse - Uprising "The paranoia is in bloom, The PR, the transmissions, will resume, They'll try to push drugs to keep us all dumbed down, And hope that we will never see the truth around Another promise, another scene, another package not to keep us trapped in greed, With all the green belts wrapped around our minds, And endless red tape to keep the truth confined They will not force us, They will stop degrading us, They will not control us, And we willbe victorious" Billy Talent - The Dead Can't Testify Well they cast me out when the word spread around That I never sang in the church. And it took one night for the town to decide I'm afflicted by the curse. So they marched me down to the center of town, With their pitchforks high in the air. I was chained and bound with a blindfold around So the judge wouldn't catch my stare. And they hung my soul from the gallows pole But the witch they never found. So to those who don't fit society's mold, Learn to swim or you will drown. K’naan - Waving Flag Born to a throne, stronger than Rome But Violent prone, poor people zone But it’s my home, all I have known Where I got grown, streets we would roam But out of the darkness, I came the farthest Among the hardest survival Learn from these streets, it can be bleak Except no defeat, surrender retreat So many wars, settling scores Bringing us promises, leaving us poor I heard them say, love is the way Love is the answer, that’s what they say, But look how they treat us, make us believers We fight their battles, then they deceive us Try to control us, they couldn’t hold us
Shwa
So you guys really don't think that we are headed to a New World Order? It is happening right in front of our eyes. Come off it - you start quoting song lyrics and I'll start laying prophetic Led Zeppelin or Who lyrics on you and that gets tedious real fast. Who doesn't think there is a new world order? Certainly most people can see globalism and the global village, but that was predicted almost 50 years ago and you are just now quoting song lyrics? So let's say - for arguments sake - that there is an emerging New World Order - why is that a bad thing or why shouldn't it happen? Let's hear your opinion on it, not SOAD's opinion.
